Runner: Rich W

Years Running: 18+

Age: 36

Upcoming races: Birch Bay and Yakima River Marathons, and a yet-to-be-determined 100 in 2017.

Current goals: Boston qualifier for 2018; a strong, comfortable finish at another mountain 100; Bryce Canyon traverse, run around Mt Adams, and run commute to work (~20 miles each way) at least once in 2017.

Long-term, big shot goals that you someday hope to achieve with running: BQ (3:10) seems pretty long-term, big shot to me right now.

Tell us about your running accomplishment that you’re most proud of and why: My 2016 Cascade Crest 100 finish.  I couldn’t be happier with my time/performance combined with directing the event right up until the start and then going into work-mode about two hours after finishing.

Favorite part about being a runner: Guilt-free donut eating.

Favorite Workout: I’m enjoying the faster interval and tempo workouts lately.

Most Challenging Workout: keeping the easy runs easy, aka following the plan.

Best races: 25:30 Cascade Crest 100 in 2016, 3:22 Seattle Marathon 2001.

Running words of wisdom: nah

Social media links: trying to quit.

Race Reports:

DuPont City Trail Marathon – 3/5/2016
