The marathon distance is my specialty and I am most passionate about coaching road 5k through the marathon distances.

PHILOSOPHY

Running should fit into your life to improve it and bring you joy. You can be fulfilled by running and accomplish your goals without sacrificing other parts of your life. If you believe in yourself and trust your coach, you will get exactly what you need. As a coach, I am an asset to each runner – taking away the burden of planning and analyzing, teaching runners to trust the process, and being a partner along the way. Consistency is key, but we must “run with” the ebbs and flows of life. I am here to help you become a stronger runner both physically and mentally, whether that means hitting a crazy PR or becoming the runner you want to be in a new phase of life.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

I have coached friends and family members and am a volunteer coach for a local running club. I have the most experience with road running distances from the 5k through the marathon. I have plenty of experience with track workouts and trail running as well. I am USATF and RRCA certified. Most of my experience is with adults and I have helped as a coach for our kids’ program as well. Apart from running, I am an indoor cycling instructor.

ABOUT ME

I am an adventure seeking, travel loving, animal loving, run coach! I enjoy running on roads, trails and the track. My favorite run distances are the 10 Miler and the Marathon. I ran cross country in middle school and high school, played college rugby, and then became a runner again after college. I have a total of about 16 years of running experience. Outside of running, I am an indoor cycling instructor (yay for cross training!) and I am a vegan. I hope to become certified in strength training at some point and incorporate that into my athletes’ training as well.

BIG INFLUENCES

I have worked with several coaches and have taken with me valuable information from each of them. I read coaching books and books by runners whenever I have the chance. I don’t believe any specific way of training will work for every single person, so I really like to find what works for each athlete individually. I strongly believe in continuous education and learning, so I can recognize in others something I may not have experienced myself.

RACING HISTORY

My very first marathon was the Boston Marathon in 2018. If you don’t recall this day, it was basically a grueling, frigid monsoon (there are shirts that say “I swam the Boston Marathon 2018”). That day I learned the power of mindset, not to listen to those negative voices in your head, and you can likely do so much more than you think you are capable of. My view of runners and their tenacity completely changed. I went into that race thinking I would do one marathon and check it off the bucket list, but somehow my life has been sprinkled with marathons ever since. I have been able to take over an hour (and counting) off my time. I want to help others find out what they can do. Whether it is a marathon or another distance, there is magic waiting to happen.
