My specialties range anywhere from track to marathon distances. I’m excited to get to work with anyone who has a desire to improve and take their running and fitness to a new level. This could be a new runner trying to find a training program that meets their needs, to new parents getting back into the swing of things, all the way to experienced athletes looking to lower their PR’s and everyone in between! My expertise extends to general strength training, return to running programs and racing strategies.

My coaching philosophy centers around two important pieces: Communication and Consistency. Communication is everything in the coach-athlete relationship. It allows us to start off at the right level and progress at a rate that is appropriate to your fitness level and life demands. Consistency in training is as important as anything. The more days, weeks, months and years of well executed, purposeful training you can string together, the more you set yourself up for success. Sleeping well, resting, maintaining adequate nutrition, hydrating, stretching, executing proper warm-ups to avoid injury, etc… These are the little things important to your success along the way. Training is always individualized to your specific needs and goals.

I attended the University of Washington and ran both XC and track (primarily 5000m and 10000m). I’m a mom of two – high fives all around to fellow parents out there surviving and thriving in the chaos! I love running because anyone can do it and anyone can see improvement. There’s nothing like the feeling of finishing a great run or meeting your race goals – nothing! Do what you you love and love what you do.

Go Dawgs!

I came to coach Anita off of an injury history and some very off-and-on, hot-and-cold training. Having her working on my training has meant ironing out a huge number of deficiencies in my day-to-day running. The thing I’m most grateful for is her making the objective, seemingly conservative calls on workouts and runs that keep me healthy, which is the top priority. As a result, I’ve noticed she’s very willing to change things on the fly. It means that my training is as hard as is safe, and that’s the type of line I can’t draw by myself, but which she can.

In terms of workouts, I get strength, core, and a variety of runs in every week. It gives my whole running career a much more solid feel.

I’ve yet to get on the line since the beginning of my training, but I’m certain I’ll see the results of this work the moment I do.

I am a college-aged runner who started running in the beginning of college. The hope is to become a collegiate runner, and coach Anita is crucial to possibly achieving that.

I was a soccer player growing up so I’ve only worked with running coaches as an adult. Some created group plans with minimal variation and others were more customized to the individual. Anita has exceeded my expectations compared to all these other coaches.

She meets you where you are in terms of fitness, sets realistic goals for progress, and gives really detailed advice on the goal of the workout and how it should feel. I always feel like I can trust her judgement on my ability to complete a workout and be honest with her if something is not working.

Especially during the current environment when races are not on the calendar and gyms are closed–I have found Anita to be an invaluable resource. She keeps me motivated with new workouts and has even provided strength training workouts I can do from home.

I’m only a couple months into working with Anita and I’m excited to see how my running develops the longer we work together.

I am a former collegiate runner who faced burnout after intense running for years. Despite affectionately telling people I have retired as a runner for the last 6 or so years, I have internally struggled with the pull to be competitive again.

Going from couch to competitive though is a difficult path and one that after numerous struggles to do so on my own, I came to the conclusion that a coach would help to provide necessary structure, accountability, and support.

Cue the team run run website, and Coach Anita. After reviewing an overwhelming set of coaches, it became clear that Anita was the right fit. She is a former college athlete, who has helped runners get back into the sport. Truly someone who has the ability and experience to work with a beginner all the way up to someone who eventually wants to be highly competitive.

The first few months of working with Anita has been great. I have been able to consistently get out the door, executing the training plan sent to me. Not to mention, Anita has the expertise to provide strength plans (leveraging at home equipment or lack thereof) aimed at strengthening one’s core and leg muscles. The training peaks website used to track training is intuitive and syncs directly with my running watch (though you can alternatively use it without a garmin).

The running build up thoughtfully planned by Anita has been exactly what I have hoped for—reinvigorating my passion for a sport that has given so much. Three months in and I regret that it took me so long to make the leap. I look forward to a continued relationship with Anita—and a path toward more consistent running for the long haul.

In short, regardless of your current fitness level, or your experience—I highly recommend Anita. She is the real deal as a coach, and you will not be disappointed.

Anita has been a pleasure to work with on my journey. She has been great with making alterations to my training plan due to my hectic schedule and unplanned injury. I have no doubt that I will hit my goals with her help.

I’ve been working with Coach Anita for about two months, and I am so happy! I have three little kids and wanted to train with a coach who understood Mom-Life but who also believed that I could reach my goals despite my busy young family. Anita has believed in me since week one and has pushed me to get back into the same mileage I ran 10 years ago as an aspiring professional triathlete. There is just no way I would have rebuilt my base without Coach Anita cheering me on and keeping me accountable. We are just starting speed work, and I’m already dreaming of racing again this summer. I know that my thoughtful training plan will get me as fast as I can be at this stage in my life, and I’m so thankful!!

I’m in week 10 of training with Anita and she’s a great coach. I’ve already PR’ed a half marathon (1:41) and am preparing to PR my next full marathon in a few weeks. The workouts have been accessible and easy to understand. I’ve been tracking all of my workouts in Strava for the past few years, so I sent her my Strava training log early on so she could see how I’ve trained thus far (and can keep me honest from here forth!). Anita explains the reasons for each workout, which has proven helpful thus far. For instance, she’ll put a lot of emphasis on form by way of focusing on really good strides toward the end of most of my workouts. This helped me execute a strong finish at my last race, in which my last mile was my fastest. She understands life gets busy sometimes and has been able to make last-minute changes when my schedule gets unpredictable. She is positive and encouraging, but gives meaningful advice. She also has given valuable insight with respect to nutrition, recovery, and injury prevention. I feel lucky to be coached by Anita and look forward to my next few races.

Anita is a fantastic fit for me! She is analytical, thoughtful, consistent and flexible. I’ve worked with her for 2 months so far, and she has been open to adjusting my plan to get it right for me and my schedule and goals. I am currently trying to make a comeback to competitive running, after not racing or training seriously for nearly 15 years. The last 2 months represent the most consistent my training schedule has ever been. I haven’t done any big races yet, but looking toward some competitive 5Ks and 10Ks in the fall. I started with some initial goals with Anita and I am right on track to hit those.

I debated for too long about hiring a running coach. I’m a previously experienced runner (race competitively through college), so I convinced myself I could plan my own training and execute. The reality is life gets in the way, or we are too close to make good decisions for ourselves, or we tend to get in the same training rut for years, or we skip workouts for lack of accountability. Working with Anita has been well worth it!

I have been training with Anita for three months and I am so impressed with her knowledge and the effectiveness of her program!

I have been running for 20 plus years (now 42) and this year could be my best year yet due to her coaching. My usual running routine is to run year round – averaging 20-25 miles a week, while increasing my distance to 30 miles a week to prepare for half marathons twice a year.

From the beginning with Anita, I have been able to train for a full marathon, increasing from 4 to 5 days a week of running and increasing mileage to 40 miles weekly (current training volume).

Anita is friendly, supportive, communicates with quality feedback with detailed descriptions that help you understand the purpose of each workout in the week & the program has been effective. My average running pace has decreased from ~ 9:30 to ~ 8:45 per minute mile. She has also introduced tempo training, general strength workouts and progressive long runs. In the past, my long runs were slow and steady – now I can run easy at the start and hit fast splits the second half of the run, which builds my physical and mental strength.

Every workout and pace is correctly prescribed – the easy days fall in the right place, the harder paces are just enough to grow but do not leave you so fatigued you cannot recover. I absolutely love interacting with Anita, I love the confidence and fun in my training program – it’s mentally and physically interesting – and all the while she remains flexible and supportive when real life is going on around the training plan.

I look forward to working with Anita for my upcoming marathon and beyond!

I have been training with Coach Anita for over two months now, and I am amazed how much she has already helped me (Thank you, Coach Anita!).

In the beginning of 2018, I started feeling that my progress started to slow down, and could not figure out why- I was good about sticking with marathon training plans, paid close attention to what I eat (most of the time) and was doing all the other supplementary training. Despite all that, I was getting sick all the time, and running was getting harder and harder (I even went to the doctor to get blood tested to see if I was anemic- and I wasn’t).

After the disappointing DNF at the 2018 Tunnel Marathon, I resumed my training for the winter half marathon. Since I felt like I was still lost in the dark, I reached out to Team RunRun and started working with Coach Anita.

From the beginning, she was extremely flexible, patient and great with communication. She gave me feedback on the runs that went well, which was so helpful for me to understand the training better. For those runs that didn’t go well, she patiently explained to me the purpose of the run, what to watch out for, and what not to worry about.

With her support, I PR-ed in the Santa Runs Tacoma Half by 5 minutes 33 second. I felt that her race plan and the suggested pace were spot-on. I can confidently say that it was the best run of the year, and I felt so happy and strong when I crossed the finish line (I even forgot to pose for the race photo camera- haha!).

I truly appreciate her coaching skills and knowledge, and recommend her to anyone who loves running.
