I love training new runners/ return to runners who are looking for help on where to start and need some guidance and encouragement along the way. I also love working experienced intermediate level runners who would like to meet some goals, try out some new distances, or want some support to get started.

Every body is so different, which is the benefit of individual training plans. I realize some bodies can handle more or less than others as a way to thrive. So training plans should fit the needs of the individual.

I think walk/run can be a great way for new runners to feel comfortable getting out there and breaking up the miles with run/ walk segments to increase stamina and enjoyment.

For runners who are looking to achieve a PR I like to have them do periodized training with specific work geared to their racing goal in order to perform to the best of their ability.

I like to see runners also working to build strength and take time to recover properly to avoid injury.

I have been coaching a variety of clients since 2020. Most of them have been female mother runners who are looking to achieve new goals and to feel strong about themselves and their abilities.

As a kid I did a few recreational sports but “ball sports” were never something I excelled at. I took up running in order to lose some weight, for a long time it was just something that I did for fun. I don’t know how far I ran or how fast I was I just liked being out there. As I crept up on my 30th birthday with 3 very small children I decided to take on my first half marathon. I loved every moment of the training and of the race. Fast forward a decade and I have completed 4 5k’s, 3 10K’s, 8 Half marathons, 4 marathons, a virtual Covid 50K for charity and the PNW Ragnar. I also recently discovered Eat the Frog Fitness and have enjoyed those classes – especially the strength and agility ones.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids between the ages of 8 and 14. As a family we enjoy hiking and playing board games.

I have been inspired by coaches like Eric Orton, Jack Daniels and Matt Fitzgerald. I also follow elite runners like Keira D’Amato and Sara Hall. I believe it is important to stay up to date on the sport, in order to best meet the needs of athletes, so I am constantly reading articles from ACE, and the RRCA, reading books, and listening to podcasts like Fit Cookie Nutrition, Ali on the Run, Another Mother Runner and Running Explained.

My first big race was a Disney half marathon just after my 30th birthday. I had signed up with the intent of making significant life choices that were different from my family of origin. I wanted my kids to see me as healthy and strong. I had tears in my eyes as I finished the race and saw my family there to cheer me on. I have gone on to complete in several races of varying distances. In November 2020 I completed my first Ultra- 50K as a virtual race for charity. It was a truly magical run on a perfect fall day in the PNW.
