SPECIALTIES
I specialize in coaching clients interested in half and marathon distances, especially new runners who are interested in expanding their volume and training. I have experience with both road and trail runners. I have many years experience working with individuals new to exercise, those experiencing anxiety with regard to exercise, and individuals looking to advance their current level and achieve new milestones and personal bests. I am a personal trainer and yoga teacher in addition to being a run coach, and have worked with individuals of all ages and stages of life – from elementary aged to seniors in assisted living, from post-partum moms to retirees with dad bods, and in between.
In addition to preparing a run plan for you, I can offer strength training routines, yoga practices and mindfulness exercises to round out your training.
PHILOSOPHY
My coaching philosophy is based on four values: Breathe * Move * Play * Love
Breathe * I approach running, training and coaching from a holistic perspective, with the goal of integrating running with the rest of your life. I don’t want running to be a source of stress or overwhelm, and we can work together to reduce anxiety and approach running with a perspective of mindfulness.
Move * I firmly believe that exercise is medicine, and movement revitalizes our body and mind. I want you to continue moving, running and walking for a lifetime! Together we will move – hopefully farther and fastest than you’ve moved before!
Play * Your goals matter to me, but we will also make running a joyful process! In our coaching relationship, I want to help you not only excel at running, but enjoy the process along the way!
Love * Running takes time, and we want to make sure that the time you invest in your running endeavors is shaped by love – your love of running, your love of progress, your love of the community, your love of the outdoors, your love of your support system.

Edith –
Catherine is a great running coach! I’ve been honest with her about the struggles with my running journey and she’s met me with compassion every step of the way. She’s allowed me the space to recover when I’ve needed it and provides me with the tools to get back to my running. I’m excited to continue to progress in my running journey, and happy to have Catherine’s support along the way!

CJ Alex –
Catherine is an amazing coach because she honestly cares. She listens and worked with me with physical limitations. She prescribed me a workout plan that was stretching, walking and running that I could do. I highly recommend her as a coach.
Helen Kulawiak –
I’ve been working with Catherine and she’s great! She is patient and knowledgeable. I’ve been working through some injury and Catherine meets me where I am without being authoritative. Even when I call myself stubborn, she turns it into something positive. I love it. I was also able to achieve a PR/my goal for a half marathon working with her. I will be working with Catherine as I train for my first marathon. Excited to see what I can achieve with her guidance and support!
Elyse Delph –
Catherine is absolutely the best coach out there. I am the type that needs to feel motivated but pushed toward goals but in a positive encouraging way and that is what Catherine is all about. Rest is just as important as training. I am currently training for my first marathon and Catherine provides a nice mix of workouts for knee, hip, core and overall strength as well as long runs, easy runs, and interval runs. She is flexible when I need to move some runs around due to scheduling conflicts and keeps each week different so it does not become monotonous like an app or written plan. I have been working with Catherine almost two months and I was able to beat my first half marathon time AND not feel like I needed a medic at the end. My breathing, thought process, pace, and my overall feeling during any type of run have changed me and will continue to change me throughout the next few months. I never thought I needed a coach but it has been a HUGE game changer. I HIGHLY recommend Catherine as a coach. Even though she does not live near me, I am able to communicate with her via app and text and feel I have someone who really cares and wants me to achieve my the best right by my side every step of the way.

Catherine is great to work with. She seems very knowledgeable and passionate about running and physical fitness. Her plans/workouts are challenging and she really switches things up. If things seem to get too much or if schedules don’t permit she is more than willing to adjust things to accommodate your needs.

Coach Catherine is a great coach! Works with you on a daily basis’, helps with injury and recovery and pushes you (which I need!). It is great to have someone who loves what you love, wants the best for you and for you to achieve your goal, whatever that maybe!!
