SPECIALTIES
I work with athletes who want to fit their training in with their busy life in a balanced and healthy way. I’m happy to work in strength training that is safe, simple, and effective. I have experience helping folks get beyond beginner soreness and work to prevent injury from the get-go.
My goal is to help you build habits, get into a maintainable routine, and reveal your potential. We work together to build your success.
PHILOSOPHY
Running should be fun and rewarding for you. With commitment and guidance, you can do anything you put your mind to while also enjoying life outside of the sport. Running well is a puzzle made up of pieces that are a little bit different for everyone. When you work with me, you’ll find the pieces that will keep your training consistent and productive.
COACHING EXPERIENCE
I started coaching speed workouts for friends in 2010, many with the goal of improving their half-marathon times. Between 2013 and 2015, I was a certified CrossFit trainer. I started my youth coaching career with Girls on the Run in 2014 and 2015. I also coached a running program for crossfitters where I program weekly speed workouts from 2013-2020 . Currently, I am an assistant cross country and head track coach at Ingraham High School.
ABOUT ME
I started running when I was 12, and didn’t quite appreciate that I learned how to run rocky terrain early while hopping through the woods on the Appalachian Trail. At the time, I loved the 800, 400m hurdles, and eventually the 3200. I received a scholarship to run at a D1 school in Washington DC (American University 2001-2005, under Matt Centrowitz) which made me appreciate XC and the 1500 a little bit more. After graduating with a MA in Film & Video, I worked at the National Geographic Channel then moved to Seattle and worked on a slew of different television shows. Since having my son, I’ve freelanced as a writer and producer while also taking on coaching at the high school level.

Douglas Cunningham –
I’ve had a wonderful experience working with Coach Meg. As a beginning runner with other athletic interests, Meg has dedicated a lot of time to designing a thoughtful, balanced program that’s allowing me to progress quickly and safely. I couldn’t ask for much more than that! But Meg is also extremely responsive, sincere and professional. It’s easy to tell how passionate she is about coaching and running. I have no doubts she’s the right person to coach me to my first half marathon. Can’t recommend her enough!

As someone new to this sport, but who has been coaching a different sport for over 25 years, it has taken me a little time to adjust to being on the ‘athlete’ side of the fence, and also to find my place in this sport. Meg has been kind, gracious and patient as I have started to find my way.
More importantly, Meg’s coaching has been on point. She has somehow managed to strike the right balance between guiding, supporting, pushing, reigning me in when needed, and giving me the space to find my way whilst creating programming that is appropriate for my experience (or lack thereof!), interesting and challenging enough to allow me to grow and stay motivated, and conservative enough to allow my body time to adapt gradually.
Although it is still early days, this is exactly what I was hoping for when I signed up with TRR!

I’ve started training after a minor back injury and Meg has been able to design a training program that has allowed me to build endurance and strength while going easy on the body. The schedule of training is fitting my lifestyle too. Training takes time but we also have to work so she’s come up with some good routines that I’m able to fit in. I’ve also got some residual leg soreness from the back pain as well as general aches and pains that come with couch to half training and she’s supported me through those and altered training as necessary. We have to stay on top of our own recovery but she’s offered extra warm-up, recovery, and stretching techniques and suggestions to help keep the muscles healthy. Meg is awesome! She’s flexible, personable, professional and knows a lot about running and how to keep moving forward. I’m so glad I signed up!!!
