SPECIALTIES
As a father, husband, and first responder, I know what it’s like to have little time to run or focus on fitness. As a coach, I use those experiences to work with new runners with similar time restraints and lifestyles. Your goal can range from running for fitness, weight loss, or completing your first 5K and all the way up to 50-mile ultramarathon distances.
My specialty is developing individualized gradual training progressions that allow new runners to build an endurance base over time safely. Strength training and nutrition guidance will be integrated to ensure you have the movement skills and physical resilience for the challenge ahead.
My approach emphasizes patience, injury prevention, and celebrating each milestone along your journey to becoming a runner. No matter the distance, I’ll equip you with the tools and mindset to train purposefully and cross the finish line strong.
PHILOSOPHY
As a coach for beginner adult runners, my training philosophy centers around building a strong foundational base progressively and sustainably.
COACHING EXPERIENCE
Although I am new to the Team RunRun coaching staff, I bring a wealth of relevant experience from my time in the Marine Corps and as a certified personal trainer. During my military service, I took on the role of preparing some of my fellow Marines for the annual Physical Fitness Test and Combat Fitness Test.
ABOUT ME
I’m a husband and father to a lively one-year-old boy named Reed. We also have two Boston Terriers, Winston, and Gizmo, who are part of the family. Our household stays active and amusing between my son and the two energetic dogs. It’s a full but fun situation managing a toddler and a pair of pups.
After my time as a Marine, I continued down a path of service by becoming an EMT and firefighter. Nowadays, I work full-time as a fire investigator while volunteering as a firefighter.
Running has been part of my life since high school and continued during my Marine Corps service, where I competed in events from 400 meters up to 5Ks. After a multi-year break from the sport, I’ve resumed running and am now training specifically for ultra distances. My current goal is building the endurance required to complete those long-distance races in the 50+ mile range.
