Tell us about your running accomplishment that you’re most proud of and why: Trying it. I love the races I’ve gotten to do over the last few years, but I’m most proud of leaving my comfort zone, starting a running habit, and sticking with it. The positive changes it’s made on my health and happiness are more important than any individual run.
Favorite part about being a runner: Getting to join a community of unique, crazy, people doing what they love and accomplishing incredible things.
Favorite Workout: The long run. There’s no better way to start the weekend. Whether on the roads or the trails, interesting and beautiful places are waiting for exploration, and the long duration can be both introspective and build the toughness you need in long races.
Most Challenging Workout: I have to agree with Matt here. Intervals. Ouch. *shudders*
Best races you’ve ever run: Deception Pass 50k in 2015. My first ultra, in December, in wind and sideways rain. What could be better!?
Running words of wisdom: Running is a commitment. It takes time out of other activities and hobbies. You don’t always feel like doing a tough workout. Be honest with yourself and be sure that what you want to get out matches what you’re putting in.
