Long-term, big shot goals that you someday hope to achieve with running: Compete in the Spartan World Championship race

Tell us about your running accomplishment that you’re most proud of and why: My first race of the season was my first as a masters athlete (yay 40!). It was fun to run against people my own age. I got to compete against the ladies that placed 1st and 3rd at the World Championship race last year. I was passed at the finish line on Saturday to get 3rd, but battled it out the next day and held onto 2nd. It felt good to be in the arena with the best and to feel like I belonged there.
Favorite part about being a runner: Enjoying the best of the PNW. I love taking a break from the day and heading out to nature for an hour. It’s also fun to go from slamming bars in the gym (I’m a Crossfit coach) to quiet, alone time on the trail.

Best races: The next one.

Running words of wisdom: Motivation can come and go. Dedication is what matters.
