Philosophy
My philosophy is simple: I want to educate and empower my athletes to grow and understand the purpose and methods of their training. To provide the tools that allow us to build together, and to reach the highest levels of each athlete’s personal ability. I believe subjective feedback on training is one of the most important tools in building a plan that works best for each individual.
Coaching Experience
This is my first time coaching runners, but I have been coaching patients in a physical therapy clinic for the last five years with individuals and athletes of all levels and experiences. From professional ballerinas to high school and college athletes, football players, cyclists, and of course runners!
About Me
I never imagined I would be a runner, much less a coach. I spent my late teens, and most of my 20’s trying to be a professional musician- long story short: I’m not a professional musician. I love to push myself physically and mentally, and love to compete, but more than anything I love running with friends. I get more excited to run with a group of friends than I do toeing the start line at a race. After a good day out on the trails, you will probably find me grabbing a cheeseburger, and I won’t turn my nose up at chocolate shake.
I love helping people, and sharing what I know from my career as a physical therapist assistant, and from my coaching classes. I try to live the mantra “give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he’ll never go hungry.” I want the same thing for my athletes as I do for my patients: to reach a point that they don’t need me anymore.
Big Influences
A lot of my running and coaching journey has been influenced by Matt Fitzgerald’s “80/20 Running,” and more recently his book “Chasing Mastery.”
I often reference Jay Dicharry, MPT, SCS, when addressing biomechanics and strength training with my athletes, and will frequently recommend his books.
I emphasize rest and recovery in training to avoid burnout, allow time for our bodies to adapt, and to decrease the risks of injury. I am a firm believer that high mileage training isn’t necessary to achieve your running goals, and that a balanced life and training plan yield the best results.
Race History
- Twin Mountain Trudge, 5x finisher (I never won, but I suffered, and got a cool mug for 5 years of self inflicted pain)
- Bighorn 52 mile 2023 (this was my first real ultra, and I hadn’t yet learned that ultra running wasn’t my strong suit)
- Never Summer 100k 2023 (this was when I started to wonder if ultra distances were right for me)
- Territory Run Camp 2023 (circumnavigated Mt. St. Helens from the Johnson Observatory- second coolest run of my life)
- The Great Divide 100 mile 2024 (this is when I realized that ultra distances were not for me. I dropped at mile 53, and hated running for the next 6 months)
- Red Feather Lakes Trail Jamboree Half Marathon 2024- 10th overall (I began to realize that shorter distances were more my speed)
- Run the Ranch 4 hour- 4th place in 2023 and 2025 (I was in first for awhile, and then I went further than I was ready to)
- Samson’s Revenge 10k- 3rd place (this is when I finally accepted the fact that you can be a trail runner without being an ultra-runner)
Certifications

John Weber –
Fun, positive and knowledgeable. Case has been great at keeping things light yet challenging to help me meet my goals. He listens well and is interested in your input. I appreciate the videos on recovery and strengthening techniques.
I was mostly entering 5k’s and the occasional 10k but I wanted to get a marathon under my belt. I was able to complete it after our first month working together. Wouldn’t have been there without his coaching and guidance. More to come as we get more races in.
