Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is built around the idea that performance comes from consistency, not perfection. Every decision I make as a coach is shaped by the athlete’s unique physiology, schedule, and mindset. I combine evidence-based endurance principles—like progressive overload, periodization, and polarized training—with strength training, mobility, and fueling strategies to create a sustainable foundation for long-term progress. I believe that training should enhance your life, not consume it, and my goal is to help athletes feel confident, capable, and strong in every phase of their journey.
Coaching Experience
I’ve been coaching for several years, working with a wide range of clients—from beginner runners and recreational athletes to adults training for marathons and long-distance races. I recently earned my Run Coach Certification, adding to my credentials as a Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Sports Nutritionist. This blend of education and experience allows me to coach the whole athlete—helping runners build strength, mobility, and endurance while improving performance and confidence. I’ve supported athletes of all levels, from first-time 5K runners to experienced marathoners looking to train smarter and stay consistent.
About Me
I’m a certified run coach, personal trainer, and sports nutritionist who’s passionate about helping runners and endurance athletes train smarter and feel stronger. I’m a coffee-loving marathoner who’s recently found a new love for triathlon training and the challenge of all-day endurance. I love reading, traveling, and exploring new places—especially when there’s a race involved. One of my biggest goals is to run a half marathon in every U.S. national park! When I’m not coaching or training, you’ll find me making espresso, filming run vlogs, or planning my next adventure.
Big Influences
Two of my biggest inspirations are Sally McRae and Kristen Faulkner—both women who embody resilience, grit, and purpose in sport. Sally’s ability to balance toughness with compassion influences how I approach coaching: I want my athletes to be strong, but also to train with intention, self-awareness, and joy. Kristen’s journey from collegiate rowing to elite cycling inspires me deeply because, like her, I started in rowing before finding my passion in running and endurance sports. Her story reminds me that it’s never too late to start something new, and that consistency, curiosity, and hard work can take you anywhere.
From a systems standpoint, my coaching philosophy blends science-backed structure with flexibility—using principles from polarized training, periodization, and habit-based nutrition and strength development. I draw from my background as a personal trainer and sports nutritionist to help runners train smarter, not just harder, and to understand how fueling, recovery, and mindset all connect to performance.
Overall, my approach is influenced by the belief that endurance is more than just miles—it’s a mindset built through consistency, curiosity, and a genuine love for the process.
Race History
I’ve officially completed seven half marathons and two full marathons, including the New York City Marathon, several Vacation Races events, the Cap City Half Marathon, and the Savannah Women’s Half Marathon—along with many local races that remind me why I love the running community. Through each training block, I’ve learned more about patience, fueling, and mental strength (and have run plenty of “unofficial” half marathons along the way!). Every race has taught me to appreciate the process as much as the finish line, and that perspective shapes how I coach—helping runners find joy, confidence, and pride in their own journey.
