Philosophy
I believe that pursuing big goals and confronting challenges inspires growth in all areas of life. My coaching philosophy focuses on process-oriented goals, helping athletes discover their limits and realize they are capable of more than they imagined, while building sustainable endurance, mental resilience, and logistical know-how for long, challenging races and FKTs. Coaching is a collaborative process — your feedback and perspective are essential to shaping a plan that fits your life, goals, and unique circumstances. Whether you are running a 5K or Cocodona, my goal is to help athletes explore their limits safely, enjoy the journey, and arrive at their adventures stronger, more confident, and fully prepared for whatever the course throws their way.
Coaching Experience
4 years of experience as a backpacking and climbing guide, helping clients prepare for and successfully tackle challenging outdoor adventures.
About Me
As a backpacking guide, I learned that no matter your skill level, approaching your limits can spark profound change. You return to everyday life with more confidence to tackle challenges and a deeper sense of accomplishment. Leading clients through week-long wilderness adventures and watching them push past limits they didn’t know they could reach has always been inspiring to me.
My interest in ultrarunning began on a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail. When I reached Washington, I decided to attempt the unsupported FKT of the 500-mile section through the state. I successfully set the record, which led me to explore other FKTs and dive deep into endurance training. Since then, I’ve completed several races over 100 miles, including the Cocodona 250, and multiple mountain FKTs.
Long days in the mountains continue to inspire me. I love being able to experience peaks, alpine lakes, and meadows that few people get to see in a single day. I believe most people are capable of these adventures with the right training, guidance, and support — and helping them get there is what drives me as a coach.
