Running Coach Description
I’m a former collegiate distance runner and personal trainer offering personalized strength and running coaching.
My specialties are coaching distances from 400m up through half-marathons for runners of all experience levels. I have the most experience coaching middle and high school age athletes, as well as post-collegiate runners. I also provide personalized strength training for running, or just for everyday life.
Specialties
My specialties are coaching distances from 400m up through half-marathons for runners of all experience levels. I have the most experience coaching middle and high school age athletes. I also provide personalized strength training for running, or just for everyday life.
Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is science-based training. I am constantly trying to read and learn new information to be able to make the best decisions I can for the athletes I coach
Coaching Experience
I have several years of experience coaching both middle school and high school programs, as well as several years coaching post-collegiate and recreational runners. I have also been a personal trainer since 2022 working with both individuals and small groups.
About Me
Hi, I’m Zack! Middle-distance running is my main hobby, although I also enjoy playing D&D and Pokemon with friends on my off days. I have a lovely wife who I met on our college cross-country team and we live in Washington with our two cats, Calcifer and Maggie
Big Influences
I’ve spent a lot of time reading books by Brad Hudson, Jack Daniels and Joel Smith. I try to model my training after Joe Eby, and focus on building volume and threshold training.
Race History
I have run hundreds of races from my middle school days to now, but the races that always stick with me are the races I’ve run with friends. Knowing that you’re working towards a goal with people you care about is one of the greatest joys in running, not to mention the camaraderie that comes with pushing yourself to your limit with a friend.
