Philosophy
I believe successful runners are built through consistency, hard work, and balance. Progress comes from showing up day after day, embracing challenging work, and trusting the process.
Well-rounded athletes are developed by prioritizing not only fitness, but also strength, mobility, recovery, nutrition, and mental resilience. Every athlete is unique, and training should be individualized to help each runner reach their potential while staying healthy and motivated.
My goal is to create athletes who are confident, disciplined, adaptable, and prepared to perform at their best for the long term.
Coaching Experience
Over the past 15 years, I have been blessed with amazing coaches from high school through my professional career. Drawing on what I have learned from my coaches and my extensive athletic background, I feel well equipped to coach runners of all types and abilities.
About Me
Born and raised in Minnesota, I ran for the University of Minnesota for 6 years (Go Gophers) where I got a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology and then a Masters Degree in Sport and Exercise Science. I am currently a professional runner for the Boston Athletic Association and live in Boston. Outside of running I enjoy baking, reading, and spending time with my husband and dog.
Big Influences
My college coach, Coach Hop, has been one of my biggest influences. She did an incredible job motivating me, keeping my spirits high through challenging times, and understanding what I needed as an athlete to succeed. I always felt supported and knew she was in my corner, helping me become the best athlete I could be. I hope to bring that same approach to my coaching by building strong relationships, understanding each athlete’s individual needs, and making sure they know I believe in them and am fully invested in their success.
Race History
I began my collegiate career focusing on the mile and 3K, gradually transitioning to the 5K and 10K over my six years at the University of Minnesota. After graduating, I joined the Boston Athletic Association’s professional team, where I incorporated more road racing in addition to track and cross country. Throughout my career, I’ve experienced injuries, setbacks, and disappointing races, so I understand the challenges athletes face and, more importantly, what it takes to bounce back.
