PHILOSOPHY

It is based on what works best in the past and what doesn’t work. I can make modifications to athlete’s workout based on what they done previously.

I think it is essential to improve shorter distance PRs before tackling main event. Workouts and mileage are based on the event, experience, etc. Can coach runners using the quality approach and low mileage. I can also coach runners using high mileage.

Athlete’s success is based on both the athlete and the coach. Coach can give the workouts, motivation, etc. but at the same time, athlete needs to put in the work.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

Coached middle school track.

Currently coaching one runner and looking to coach more.

The one runner I currently coach went from first time runner into sub 50 min 10k in 2022. This year, he reached out to me again in having him coach him for a half marathon. After a few months away from running, he ran a 10k under few weeks of training and he ran a 48:53 10k. I had him run 1600m time trials and he ran 6:20. Once he gets an opportunity to run 5k, 10k, etc. he will demolish his PBs. He is running 5x a week and around 30 miles per week.

Bay Area native who just became a father. Former SJSU XC runner, who currently competes competitively for Strawberry Canyon Track Club. Although currently injured, looking to come back.

My influences are those who coached me in the past and present. I’ve been under great coaching and bad coaching. The bad coaching has taught me a lot. It is important for me to give my best to every athlete I coached.
