Specialties

I coach runners from beginner to advanced, from the 5k up to the marathon!

As a pelvic health physical therapist, I specialize in helping athletes returning from injury or looking to prevent injury! I am also passionate about training women through pregnancy and post-partum, since our bodies go through such major changes and need individualized and specialized support to optimize return to running

I use a holistic approach – including strength training, mobility, nutrition/fueling and recovery techniques

Philosophy

I believe running is a personal journey that should be both fun and inspiring!

As a coach, it’s my main goal to help you find the right balance to help keep you running and achieving the big, scary goals you set for yourself, not injured or burned out

I will help you learn how to listen to your body so that you aren’t accidentally working against yourself

I’ll help you set and reach goals, that you might never have even thought possible!

Coaching Experience

I have coached adults from just starting their running journeys, all the way up to marathon and ultras

About Me

My running journey started in high school, where I fell in love with the sport and challenging myself. I walked onto my collegiate D1 team, and graduated as a scholarship athlete and multi-year captain. I stayed connected to the team as team manager during my graduate program years.

Fun Fact – I met my husband on my college cross country team!

Since graduating, I have worked as a physical therapist and continued running, mostly half and full marathon distances. I have run 3 BQ times, and have run the Boston Marathon twice, but my favorite marathon was St George in Utah!

When I’m not running – I love hiking and skinning (you hike up the mountain in your ski gear, and ski down)! I discovered skinning during COVID, and used it as a fun cross-training activity!

I have an 8 year old dog, who has been a wonderful running buddy! I also have 2 sons – ages 2.5 and 2 months! The birth of my first son inspired me to pursue a pelvic health specialty, and I’m so passionate about helping women learn to feel strong and connected in their bodies!

Big Influences

My college coaches are my biggest coaching influences. They always helped me to find the balance of keeping running fun, setting “reach” goals, and listening to my body both during training and racing. My coaches always believed I could set a new PR before I did, which was incredibly motivating!

Race History

I’ve run may races over the years, but the ones that are most memorable aren’t necessarily the PRs, they are the races where I stayed mentally tough.

My second Boston Marathon was one of those races. I was ready to run fast that day! My first Boston Marathon was the 2020 COVID version that took place in October, and was a rolling start. I was un-prepared for how difference a “typical” Boston Marathon experience would be. I ended up missing my wave of runners, and jumping in about 10,000 or spots later. When the gun went off, the race was crowded and the pace was slow. I kept thinking it would spread out and I’d be able to settle into my pace, but this went on for miles. I was feeling more and more defeated as I watched the miles tick by, and thought, “there’s no way I’ll PR now.”

If you’ve ever run a marathon you know that letting negative thoughts in your head is a slippery slope, and I knew I needed to reset. I stopped to use the bathroom, and told myself to just have fun! I have always believed that race day is a celebration of all the hard work you’ve put in, I might as well smile and celebrate!

The race finally started to spread out around the half-way mark, and I was able to settle into the pace I had trained for. When the hills started coming, I felt strong, and I ended up having a huge negative split – AND setting a new Boston Marathon PR in the process.

    Rebecca W.

From my very first call with Jill she has been a wealth of knowledge. She goes above and beyond just planning runs for me. From the start she asked me questions about my lifestyle, nutrition, sleeping, menstrual cycle to really get a good understanding about what kind of plan would be beneficial for me. She has been nothing but kind and understanding when the plan has to be altered. I can’t recommend Jill enough as a coach, she is passionate and holds so much knowledge about running and the human body. Overall exceeding my experience with a run coach!
