Philosophy
I spent decades as a middle-of-the-pack runner, working hard for every mile. I only qualified for Boston after I hired a coach myself. That’s when everything clicked. Sometimes you need someone in your corner who’s been there and can guide you in the right direction.
I’ve spent my 21-year career in uniform and on the run, so I get it. I know the stressors firsthand. Running doesn’t have to be something you dread or overtrain for. With the right plan, it becomes manageable and even empowering.
Everyone deserves to feel that overwhelming pride of crossing the finish line and completing what they started.
Coaching Experience
Newly certified, but I’ve been coaching military members informally for years.
About Me
After retirement, my boyfriend and I sold everything, bought a 5th-wheel RV, and hit the road full-time. Living this way taught me what “life on the go” really means and why flexibility is everything in training.
Big Influences
Everyone responds to coaching differently. Some thrive on being pushed hard, while others need a lighter touch. I pay attention to how you react to challenges and feedback, then adjust. The goal is to meet you where you are, not where I think you should be. After all, one person’s “push” is another person’s “no thanks, I’m out!”
Race History
I’ve run nearly 40 marathons and ultras, plus countless shorter races, and I’ve podiumed a handful of times. Usually, I finish in the top 20%.
One of my more memorable races was a Boston Marathon shadow run in Qatar. It was so hot in April that they had to start the race at 3 a.m., and it was still around 97 degrees (with high humidity) when we set off. 75% of the course was on the rocks and sand, while the rest was on hot asphalt. I came in 3rd overall and 1st female!
Certifications
- UESCA Running Coach Certification
- Soldiers to Sidelines Endurance Sports Certification
Personal Records
- 50 Mile: 11:05:43 Feb 2024. Special Operations Warrior Foundation. 100% of this was in the sand, and if you know anything about Destin, FL sand, it is NOT compacted—1st place female OA.
- 50k: 4:47:13 Oct 2022. Marine Corps Marathon 50k. If you are a DoD cardholder, I can tell you about the hidden gem parking spot.
- 26.2: 3:28:17 Feb 2025. Wilmington Marathon. Boston Qualified, but only after I hired a coach myself.
- 1.5-mile PT test: 9:52 fastest. 10:20 average throughout the years.
