Philosophy
- “It’s not where you start, but where you finish that counts” – doesn’t matter if you’re picking up running at 15, 35 or 55. It doesn’t matter if you’re a 15min 5K or a 40min 5K. What matters is that you work towards being your best self.
- “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment” – motivation only gets you so far. eventually it wanes. Our work together is about implementing processes for success, even when motivation is low.
- Trust the process – a workout may not go well. A week may feel challenging. Life miles and running miles may wear thin. That’s part of the work. Leaning into those feelings is what unlocks your potential.
- Life is about relationships – I’m available to talk about the process. Fears, excitement, gameplanning, prepping, understanding. The relationship between a coach and a student isn’t just writing a plan, it’s about deepening a relationship in pursuit of something great.
Coaching Experience
I have been coaching for about a year and a half. In that time it’s been a pleasure to see my athletes PR their Marathons, Half Marathons, run new distances and try new types of races. But the ultimate joy, has been seeing clients of all walks of life fall deeper in love with running.
About Me
I didn’t find running until 27. At my highest weight, I trained for a 5K. Then another. Then another. I saw my time drop significantly. I went for more – 10K, Half Marathon. The world granted me running before what was about to come. Shortly after my half marathon, I entered Addiction Recovery, which was affecting my marriage and my health. I leaned even more into running as a way to connect to something greater than myself, connect to my inner child and clear my mind from the stressors in life. Running has not only been a part of a fitness journey, but a healing journey.
I manage to navigate a busy schedule of being a father of 2 great, active kids, a wife who wants to always be on-the-go, and a career as a Tech Sales rep. Even with all that, I have been able to train to my best times in the mile, 5K, 50K, 50M, 100K. And at 36 years young, I have finished my first 100 miler and 5 weeks later, ran a sub 19min 5K.

Brent Card –
Been working with Ryan for 3 months and I have seen great progress. I’ve lost 34 pounds and found my love of running again. He presses when I need it, works with me when life demands flexibility and is always there to share in my successes. I wouldn’t be here without him and look forward to a long relationship! As a side note, 15 years ago I was a somewhat “accomplished” ultra runner. Ryan has the ability to coach couch to 5K, right up to 100 milers. His expertise is broad and he can help someone lose weight and have fun right through training for an ultra distance. Whatever you are looking for he can make it happen!
