Philosophy

Training should be enjoyable and fit your life. Your training schedule should push you, but not cause burnout or injury. I use a Block Periodization strategy to build base fitness first, then tailor the training for your particular race. My main goal is to help others enjoy and succeed in the sport that I love!

Coaching Experience

Recently certified in Ultra Running Coaching through UESCA, but I have coached multiple runners for distances from 5k to 100k including multiple PR’s.

About Me

I’m based in Asheboro, North Carolina. I have been running since 2014, starting with road 5k’s and moving on to Half Marathons. In 2019 I started running trail races and I was hooked. I started researching Ultras and eventually signed up for my first 50k and have been running Ultras ever since. Aside from running, I also enjoy hiking and backpacking (Appalachian Trail C/O 2000!) and playing guitar/bass. I look forward to helping you on your journey into the Ultra Community!

Adam is a transformational coach. When I first started working with him, running a road 5k was taxing. He both inspired and believed in me so much, that I am now signed up to run a trail 25k and 50k. I have desired to be a “runner” since college. I worked with my first run coach during COVID. My goal, as I told her, was to “fall in love with running”. The running community and lifestyle always seemed like something I wanted to be a part of. That journey with that run coach did not take off. Adam is incredibly different. He believes in you more than you believe in yourself but also maintains a sense of realism with your goals. My cardiovascular health and strength has improved to a place I did not think was attainable for myself. The biggest payoff from working with Adam has perhaps been the mental agility and toughness he helps you acquire. Thanks to Adam I now am able to stay positive on the uphills and enjoy the downhills: both when trail running and in life! Adam is an incredible human to be around. It is fascinating to learn about him and his running journey. I have gained so much knowledge about the ultra trail running community vicariously through him. You will not regret meeting Adam on your journey! Thank you Adam!
