SPECIALTIES

I specialize in aerobic training. The types of workouts that this would entail would be workouts such as zone training, interval training, easy running. v02 max training, tempo and broken tempo training as well as a bit of speed training and change of pace. I emphasize the importance of staying healthy, getting good sleep, recovery, etc. I believe that it is not just the running/training that allows you to get faster, I believe it is also your recovery, diet, mental and many other factors that can help you reach success in your events. I do not believe that there is only one method to succeed I believe everybody has different strengths and weakness and therefore requires individualized training plans.

PHILOSOPHY

My coaching philosophy is an emphasis on consistency and individualization in training plans for every athlete. I want to balance the effort with proper recovery to prevent burnout. I like to use effort-based training in terms of pace, rather than always fixating on a particular pace, because sometimes on a given day you may not feel a 100 percent so you may have to adjust to effort rather than pace, which I believe can be just as effective. I train with a heavy approach on aerobic training as I believe this is one of the best mechanisms of success for running as you can prevent injury as you are not training as intense, as you would mainly be doing threshold training, easy running as well as tempo, zone training and interval training. I also believe although my philosophy has a heavy focus on aerobic training, I believe that you should always have a bit of speed and turnover training as well. I believe this is necessary to make you a more well versed and complete runner, as many times in races it could come down to the last 100 meters of the race.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

I play a leadership role as well as mentorship role in the Ottawa Lions Track and Field club within my group as well as being one of the team captains when I used to be apart of the University of Ottawa cross country and track and field teams.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Ottawa, Ontario and still reside here to this day where I train and compete for the Ottawa Lions track and field club. I went to the University of Ottawa where I competed for both their track and field and cross-country teams over my five years there. My history with running has for sure had its ups and downs as well through injury as well as mental weakness within the sport at times which caused me to have a two-year layoff from the sport in which I did very minimal running and zero workouts. I believe my two years off from the sport made me stronger physically and mentally as well as humbler and more knowledgeable about the sport and how important recovery is. I had the honor of being the uOttawa team captain in my final year there. Apart from my running I enjoy watching basketball, soccer, Tennis, Hockey, as Netflix as well as the food network.

BIG INFLUENCES

My big influences are my coach Helen Cooper, as well as Felix Antoine Lapointe and Samuel Marion, Normand Seguin as well as Richard Johnston, my former coach Josh Karanja and all the other Ottawa Lions and Canadian track and field coaches. My competitors and fellow teammates as well are big influences of mine. My biggest athlete influence would Jakob Ingebrigtsen, I admire his hard work, confidence and determination that he exhibits to achieve and obtain his goals

RACING HISTORY

I train and race competitively for the Ottawa Lions Track and Field Club. I have raced since elementary school through university and beyond. My main event is the 1500m and my goal is to represent team Canada in the 2028 Olympics for the 1500m. In 2018 I was a silver medalist at the OFSAA track and filed championship for the 2000m steeplechase. I also was a 2018 U20 national bronze medalist in the 3000m steeplechase. I was an OUA cross country all star in 2023, as well as a all Ontario for the 2024 outdoor track and field season where I won the 1500m provincial title at the Athletics Ontario track and field championships.
