PHILOSOPHY
My coaching philosophy centers on a holistic and individualized approach paired with overwhelming positivity! With a professional background in Data and Rocket Science, I love to meticulously analyze training data to glean insights that can propel athletes to their next level and proactively prevent injuries. However, I equally believe that the body is our most sophisticated “health and fitness tracker.” Therefore, I strive to help my athletes become deeply attuned to their bodies, using their internal feedback to maximize those data insights. I am a strong advocate for strength training and cross-training as essential components of a well-rounded program. I believe that training, and the entire process, should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, especially when shared with others. Open and consistent communication is paramount; I prioritize monthly conversations beyond regular messaging to ensure we’re always on the same page. I also champion a high-carb fueling strategy and am committed to staying abreast of the latest advancements in running and endurance performance research.
COACHING EXPERIENCE
I’ve been guiding athletes since 2006, initially coaching swimmers from age 5 to over 60 until 2019. Since then, I’ve expanded my focus, diving deep into the nuances of cycling and running, informally coaching myself and others along the way. My own journey has been shaped by some of the best in endurance sports, including multiple Olympic Team swim coaches and a trail-running World Champion. This diverse experience has shown me that core principles like positivity, proper nutrition, acute body awareness, targeted strengthening, foundational conditioning, and developing top-end speed are universal necessities for success across all endurance disciplines.
ABOUT ME
Beyond the world of splits and strides, I love balancing my life with global adventures. I’ve been fortunate to explore over 25 countries throughout Europe and Asia, embracing new cultures (and finding great running routes!) wherever I go. Here in Boulder, you might spot me taking a midday stroll down Pearl Street or, more often, conquering the stunning mountain terrain that surrounds us. I also love to cook, and if you’re looking for some fantastic plant-based recipes, I’ve got plenty to share!
