Philosophy
I’m a big believer that if I can do it, anyone can! I want to share my passion for running, and the running community, and set you up for success with knowledge for training plans, fueling, equipment and overcoming the mental barriers to meet your short and long-term goals, while taking your other life priorities into account.
Coaching Experience
New to formally coaching but have supported friends and family in their running journeys.
About Me
I’m 37 years old and live in South Florida with my husband and two dogs, but am originally from Bucks County, PA and lived and worked in the DC metro area for 14 years. I studied Spanish at the University of Maryland (am still so-so conversational) and earned my Master’s degree in HR Management at University of Maryland University College.
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 19 and my diabetes is my “why” for running! While I was always into fitness recreationally, I never considered myself an “athlete” or “athletic.” Until a friend asked me to do my first half marathon with her in 2016 (2:12). One half become a second and then my first full marathon, Marine Corp, in 2019 (4:47). Fast forward to today where I’ve completed 9 halves (PR 1:40:44) and 5 fulls (PR 3:27:39) and a variety of other races (5ks, 10 milers). While my performance has continued to improve, I also have the personal experience to know that not every run or race will be great or go to plan.
When I’m not running I also love to travel. Fun fact, I was also a certified Zumba and group fitness instructor out of college, but never taught!
Big Influences
I mix outdoor and tread running and have been heavily influenced by the Peloton platform.
Race History
After completing a local 5k, my friend encouraged me to sign up and raise money for the JDRF to complete my first half marathon, the Virginia Wine Country Half, in 2016 (2:12:04). After that she convinced me to sign up for another half and from there why not do a full. My first marathon was Marine Corp 2019, where it was torrential downpour for ~20 miles and then bright and sunny (and chafing) from there on (4:47:47). If I could do that, I can do anything.
Through covid, I thought my racing days were over until I relocated and quickly found a running community. After signing up for my next 10 miler, I was hooked again and completed the Chicago marathon through lottery in 2022 (4:07:33). Now, I have a goal to complete all 6 of the Abbott World Majors. My third full was Philadelphia 2023, where I BQed with a time of 3:32:29, fourth was Atlantic City in October 2024 (3:33:52), and fifth planned for Disney in January 2025. I have also completed a total of 9 half marathons and several other shorter races.
