Specialties

I help runners go farther, faster, and stronger — from first ultras to 100-mile finishes. My coaching blends smart training with strength, mobility, and nutrition so you stay injury-resistant and race-ready. Whether you’re chasing your first 50k, grinding toward a 100-miler, or looking to PR a road half, I’ll build the physical grit and mental toughness you need to crush your goals on trail or road.

Philosophy

My coaching philosophy is simple: every runner is unique, and every plan should reflect that. I design individualized, science-based programs that build strength, mobility, endurance, and nutrition into one complete system. The goal isn’t just finishing races—it’s creating resilient athletes who can train hard, stay healthy, and keep progressing year after year.

As an ultra runner myself, I know the grind of chasing a first 50k and the discipline it takes to tackle 100 miles. That’s why I emphasize a balanced approach—endurance, strength, recovery, and mental toughness all working together.

I coach with encouragement, structure, and adaptability, tailoring each plan to fit your goals and your life. My mission is to help you not only achieve your running dreams but also build a lifelong love of the sport and the confidence that comes with it.

Coaching Experience

With over 35 years of experience in strength and conditioning, weight training, and nutrition, I bring a well-rounded, science-driven approach to endurance coaching. As an ultra runner who has trained and competed across distances from 50k to 100 miles, I understand the demands athletes face and how to prepare for them. My coaching blends endurance, strength, mobility, and recovery to build resilient athletes who can perform at their best.

I create individualized plans that meet athletes where they are—balancing training with real-life schedules and goals. My focus is on helping runners of all levels unlock their potential, develop long-term durability, and foster a lifelong love of the sport. In addition to working with adults, I also coach youth athletes to build strong habits early.

About Me

I am a UESCA-certified ultra running coach and nutrition advisor with a lifelong dedication to fitness and endurance sports. With over 35 years of experience in strength and conditioning, weight training, and bodybuilding, I bring deep expertise in physical performance and pair it with a passion for helping athletes achieve their goals.

As an avid ultra runner for more than a decade, I’ve trained and raced consistently across distances from 50k to 100 miles. I specialize in guiding athletes through the unique demands of ultra distances while also working with runners who are building base fitness, sharpening speed, or pursuing shorter race goals.

My background as a USMC veteran instills discipline, determination, and focus into my coaching, while my history in football (including college-level play) and track has shaped my belief in the importance of strength, mobility, and resilience for long-term endurance success.

I am passionate about empowering athletes to push past limits, stay durable, and unlock their full potential through individualized coaching, tailored nutrition strategies, and a foundation built on strength and mobility.

Big Influences

I believe that a strong mind and a “never quit” attitude are what truly define a runner. My coaching emphasizes mental toughness, adaptability, and resilience—qualities that not only fuel success in ultra running but also carry over into every aspect of life.

I draw inspiration from endurance icons like Karl Meltzer, Kilian Jornet, Scott Jurek, and David Goggins. From Goggins, I embrace the mindset of pushing past perceived limits, doing the hard things, and developing calloused strength of mind. These principles guide my approach: training isn’t just about building the body, it’s about building the grit to keep moving forward when everything tells you to stop.

With over 35 years in strength and conditioning, I integrate endurance, mobility, strength, and nutrition into individualized training plans. Whether you’re chasing your first 50k or preparing for a 100-miler, my goal is to help you become not just a stronger runner, but a tougher, more resilient athlete—ready to thrive in any challenge.

Race History

I’ve competed in everything from 5Ks to marathons, and today my focus is on the ultimate test of endurance—ultras. I’ve taken on multiple ultra-distance races and am continuing to push new limits with events from 50K up to 100 miles. Every race, no matter the distance, has taught me lessons in discipline, resilience, and adaptation—lessons I bring directly into my coaching to help athletes succeed in their own journeys.
