ABOUT ME

Running for me is not just about the running. It is about building community, overcoming challenges, and giving me the strength to do the other things I enjoy. My family and I are working to rehabilitate an old farm, and that keeps me busy growing vegetables for our roadside farmstand and doing projects around the property. I have embraced the challenge of being a runner with young kids, often towing them along in the double stroller (or sometimes being towed) as they cheer me on in road races. When I’m not running you can find me fishing, skiing, backpacking, and summiting mountains in the Pacific NW.

BIG INFLUENCES

My biggest influence has been the other coaches I have worked with and learned from, and the hundreds of athletes I have coached over the past 15 years. Every runner is unique, and each athlete’s experience helps educate and influence how I coach.

Also: Jack Daniels, Scott Christensen, and Clint May have helped guide my training philosophy.

RACING HISTORY

Recent Races from 2023-2024:

  • 5K: 15:38
  • 4-mile: 21:11
  • 5-mile (with a double stroller): 29:06
  • 1 Mile (on track): 4:32
  • Prior to 2023, I have also completed multiple half and full marathons (including Boston)

PRs

  • Marathon: 2:55:14 (2011) Seattle Rock ‘n’ Roll
  • Half Marathon: 1:13:06 (2017) San Diego Half
  • 8K: (2008) 25:48 College

I have been working with Chris for two months and feel that I have really been able to improve my running skills. I am 52 years young and have been running almost my entire life. I just felt that reached a point where I needed to get out of a rut. Chris has definitely give me that his daily workouts really fit me and having someone to hold me accountable is fantastic. Chris tell you in such a nice way that you need to pick it up and still feel great about yourself. Look forward to seeing more results with Chris
