Philosophy

Running is a comprehensive sport! That means it involves every part of a person, mind, body and soul. I believe in coaching to the athlete as a whole person. We all have crazy lives, I like to meet people where they are and find training that challenges and fulfills them while also working with their schedules. Learning your mental and physical strength is invaluable and can empower you in all aspects of your life, including, of course, competition! I believe that people perform better when they are running toward something as opposed to away from it. As a coach I aim to provide positive encouragement and advice as well as a strong foundation in intentionally crafted training.

Coaching Experience

I have coached people of all ages. From afterschool cross country for 4th and 5th graders, to cross country and track and field at middle school and varsity levels. My varsity teams achieved success including school records and regional championships in the NYC area. I am a bit of a running nerd, and have continued my coaching education via ALTIS essentials, USTFCCA technical certification and my own research.

About Me

I am NYC based actor and runner! The intersection of arts/athletics is something I am very passionate about, let’s talk about it! Running has been a big part of my life since I was a kid. Having competed in nearly every event from the 60m hurdles to the Marathon I have a unique perspective on athletics. I consider myself a student of the sport and am always looking to learn more. I am committed to helping my athletes achieve their goals and learn about themselves and through movement.

Big Influences

My biggest influences are my college coaches, they are the best in the business and I am fortunate to have learned from their wisdom and mentorship.

Other influences include:

  • Jack Daniels
  • Dan Pfaff
  • Latif Thomas

Race History

As a collegiate athlete I competed in cross country and track and field at Oberlin college. Besides cross country I competed in the combined events (pentathlon/heptathlon) where I earned Academic All-American honors in the pentathlon and a school record (which has since been broken by a friend!) in the pentathlon. Combined events gave me an opportunity to learn and do a lot of track! Post college I moved into marathons and competed in Boston 2022. The following year I competed in the women’s national championship of the decathlon. I have loved experiencing my body in different modes of fitness. Understanding my body in this way has empowered me greatly. I have learned to trust my own strength and capabilities, I strive to help my athletes tap into their strength as well. It makes all the difference.

I have had many coaches throughout my life as a college track athlete and 13 years of experience being a coachee, so with some amount of authority on the subject I can truly say Christine is an incredible coach and anyone is lucky to have her on their team. I have now been coached by Christine for several months and even though my schedule and resources are constantly in flux, she is easy to reach- her workouts are challenging but not overwhelming and she makes it fun and personalized to the specific (and even a bit random) goals that I have. (One of my goals being that I wanna show off a bit at the gym with things like hang cleans etc.) I use a public gym and sometimes certain parts are off limits due to sports events and or crowded days and she is responsive when I reach out to her if there is some tweaks that need to be made in the workout. I have had a hard time with consistency since finishing my athletic career and I am so grateful to have her making me feel that well taken care of feeling you can only get from a thoughtful and creative coach. Also I should mention, her workout techniques are well researched and have a good balance of challenge and efficiency. Very happy to have found her!
