SPECIALTIES

I specialize in guiding new ultra runners through their journey from their first 50K trail race to completing a 100-mile ultramarathon. Whether you’re stepping up from marathons or diving into the world of ultra or trail for the first time, I provide personalized coaching tailored to your experience level and goals. While my focus the last few years has been on the ultra distances I have help numerous personal friends and family members enter the world of running and completing their first 5k, 10k, and half marathons, one of my absolute favorite things is watching someone fall in love with the sport that has been such a huge part of my life for decades!

I believe in crafting training plans that prioritize the individual needs and circumstances of each athlete. Understanding that athletes have busy lives outside of running, I work closely with them to develop schedules that fit around their personal work and family commitments. By adapting training to accommodate life’s demands, I ensure that athletes can progress towards their goals without sacrificing balance.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in a holistic approach to training, focusing not only on physical fitness but also on mental resilience and proper nutrition. Every athlete is unique, and I tailor my coaching strategies to suit individual needs and goals. Whether you’re aiming for your first ultra or seeking to set a new personal record, I’m here to support and guide you every step of the way.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

With over 20 years of experience in distance running, I am passionate about helping athletes push their limits and achieve their ultra running goals. As a certified coach through the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy (UESCA), I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every training session.

Running Background: My journey in distance running began over two decades ago in middle school, and since then, I’ve conquered numerous ultra marathons, road and trail races. Whether it’s navigating rugged terrain or enduring long hours on the road, I’ve faced the challenges head-on and emerged stronger with each race.

ABOUT ME

In addition to my passion for running, I’m also deeply involved in the world of Muay Thai. As a certified coach and athlete, I understand the importance of discipline, technique, and mental fortitude in combat sports. My experience in Muay Thai enhances my coaching style, bringing elements of strength, agility, and mental toughness to the training process. Outside of sports life I’m married and have a 3 year old toddler so I can understand and handle the struggle of juggling training and family life.

BIG INFLUENCES

Over the years of competing I have had the pleasure of working with coaches who have motivated me to not only improve and strive to seek new heights not only in my own goals but also in becoming a coach and giving back to the community.

RACING HISTORY

I’ve competed in several half marathons, marathons, and have completed multiple ultra distances including my first 100 mile finish last year at Hennepin Hundred.
