Philosophy

  1. Collaborative. Coaching is more than prescribing a plan; it’s a conversation. I’m here to break down your goals into an actionable training plan and workouts built for you, but this is your coaching experience, and I want to put you in the driver’s seat. You know your body best, and I will always listen to your feedback (about how you respond to training, other stressors going on in your life, etc.) and use it to improve your training plan. I take the time to get to know you and welcome questions and feedback because I see this as a partnership where you should feel heard and understood as an athlete and person.
  2. Customized. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to running training, but there is a way to achieve your goals on any schedule or training style. The best part of a one on one private coaching relationship is that we can think outside the box to make your plan work for you. I love incorporating different training methodologies, periodized workout schedules, cross-training, strength training, and more to help you grow as an athlete. We can also work on mental training and visualization to tailor your training to competition goals or simply overall improvement.
  3. Consistent. You can expect consistent communication from me, but I also prioritize consistency for my athletes. Reaching your running goals is accomplished through lots of good training rather than a few incredible sessions. You’ll never feel pressure to have an A+ workout every day- the priority is to consistently stack solid work. This will keep you injury-free, healthy, and loving the sport, and the accumulation of work will get you the result you’re working towards. I structure all your training with your long-term health and love of running in mind.

Coaching Experience

While my coaching experience so far has been informal, I’ve taken the knowledge that great coaches have imparted on me as a Division 1 NCAA collegiate athlete and now a post-collegiate marathoner/Olympic trials qualifier to heart. I’ve used these training techniques and tools to advise friends on their training in distances ranging from the 5k and 10k up to the Half Marathon and Marathon. I’m excited to start coaching in a more full-on capacity and being able guide you on the day-to-day workouts and big picture goal setting. I’m equipped with almost two decades of personal experience as a distance runner and I want you to benefit from all the strategies that have worked for me, and to get ahead of the challenges I’ve encountered in my on my own path in running.

About Me

Like many of you, I’m a 9-5’er, so I understand your schedule and want to show you how running can fit in! I love that running is a great opportunity to get outside every day. I’m a big nature lover, so I always encourage keeping training fun with adventure runs and exploration! I’m based in San Francisco and I love exploring the trails, tracks in the city, and everything in between.

Big Influences

My current coach, a veteran in the distance coaching field, and my NCAA collegiate coaches, are my greatest influences and inspirations. They’ve helped me understand the value of a collaborative coaching relationship and emphasized holistic wellbeing and growth as the foundation of successful running. I bring this approach to coaching my own athletes, understanding your goals, personality, and lifestyle so that we can be partners in helping you reach your potential. My coaches have always been open to my unique approaches to training, like implementing cross-training, and never put limitations on me if I wanted to reach my goals in a non-traditional way. No matter what obstacles you face in your running, I know that you can do the same!

Race History

Just like any runner, I have good and bad races, but the common denominator is that I bring an attitude of seizing the opportunity to race to every start line. Remembering that racing is the fun part is a key to success, and I’ve had my best days when I enter with this mindset! Some racing highlights for me have been the NCAA Track and Field National Championships, where I finished as the 11th-fastest 10k runner in the nation with a time of 33:07 and became a Division 1 All-American. I also ran my first marathon in December of 2025 and qualified for the Olympic Trials in 2:34. I can’t wait to run another one! Some other highlights have been becoming an NCAA Conference Champion in the 5k and 10k, and a collegiate team title in cross country.

In all my best races, I used tools I learned working with a Sports Psychologist that I want to share with the athletes I coach! If you want to learn all of the mental preparation, visualization, race planning, and journaling techniques that have gotten me these results, let’s work together!
