Philosophy

Helping guide athletes through goal setting and goal attainment while having fun!

Coaching Experience

I’ve coached runner, multisport athletes, and cyclists from beginner to elite. Children through adults.

About Me

I’ve been running and cycling since I was a child. As a youth, I disliked school but loved riding and running. My parents figured this our about me and utilized exercise as a reward for doing my school work! As an adult, I have dedicated my career to learning about motivation, specifically how we use motivation in athletics and exercise!

Big Influences

Works of Dr Deci and Dr Dweck have influenced my philosophy regarding coaching and exercise. A tie that binds both researchers is the need for internal motivation to achieve a personal, meaningful goal.

Race History

Team USA- Duathlon, I’ve been selected and raced at the age group world championships since 2017 where I went from a rank beginner in multisport to podium level at national events in the course of a few years. This was an evolution for me as an athlete founded on reworking my goal setting strategies and on sound training concepts.

    Alex L

Dave is a very experienced coach that practices what he teaches. I would recommend him for anyone from beginner to experienced runners. He is able to tailor a plan to fit your lifestyle and goals as well.

  2. 5 out of 5

    Michelle Formicola

As a nurse, working odd hours with no real routine or schedule to speak of, it has been very difficult to find and stick to a workout routine. David has been able to fluidly navigate my strange schedule and adapt a training and nutrition plan that not only works for me, but that I enjoy. He is more than just a running or cycling coach, he incorporates nutrition and personal fitness goals to create an experience in which you want to continue to kick your own butt. Dave is knowledgeable, patient and has helped me to maintain motivation and forward movement, even in the hard moments.

  3. 5 out of 5

    Spencer Perry

Dave is very knowledgeable about physiology with his background as a RT and it shows in his training plans and how he talks to you about workout feedback. Not only is he personable but he’s very accommodating for your life goals and how they work in with your training goals and adaptable to your schedule if it changes. Very flexible, approachable, and will figure out what works for you. Not much more I could ask for
