Running Coach Description
I coach beginner runners from the 1-mile distance through the marathon, focusing on sustainable progress and long-term wellness.
Specialties
I am looking to help from multiple angles forming a wellness triangle. 1. Helping busy professionals run their first marathon without burnout. 2. Strength-focused coaching for injury-prone runners. 3. Accountability coaching/ habit building. With these angles of time, physical fitness and mental fitness I am focusing on the beginner level whether its to run your first 5k or first marathon.
Philosophy
Running should feel accessible, not intimidating. I coach runners with patience, structure, and encouragement so they can build confidence and create lifelong healthy habits. My philosophy combines running, strength work, and mobility to improve performance, reduce injuries, and support longevity in the sport.
As a Police Officer and a soldier in the US Army Reserves, these build endurance, discipline, and mental resilience required in running. As a Police Officer I do not work a conventional M-F 9-5 schedule. I am aware there are many professional as such and can help with time management and accountability. With my career I often need to perform under physically and mentally demanding conditions, where cardiovascular fitness can improve reaction time, stamina, and overall job performance. Beyond physical preparedness, running also develops consistency, stress management, and the ability to stay composed during challenging situations.
I also really value and enjoy the side of running where its an hour to grow physically and an hour to grow mentally. 99% of runs I do an audiobook or a podcast. I love this opportunity to grow in multiple ways. I personally am less focused on time and more the personal satisfaction I get from running.
Coaching Experience
My first marathon I had a coach and since then I have been self coaching. I also help family and friends through their first races from their first consistent one mile run to a marathon. I recently just obtained my bachelors of science in exercise science where for my final classes I wrote and executed workout plans developed around injury, timelines, and flexibility.
About Me
I reside in Washington DC, although born and raised at the Jersey shore. I grew up playing soccer, basketball and softball and now was a ‘washed up athlete’ I am passionate about running/ pursuing goals that make me proud of myself. I am currently registered to race a Sprint triathlon as well as an Olympic triathlon. I enjoy the three disciplines and always learning something new. The pool is humbling. I hope this endurance training keeps moving the needle as I am registered to run MCM this fall. As someone who did not grow up competing in cross country or track I had to learn and find my own groove for running and I am exited to help others do the same.
As mentioned as a Police Officer working pitman schedule, I find a way to make training work while also listening to my body. As some shifts can be emotionally challenging I use running as my outlet to process.
Big Influences
I am inspired by so many. Specifically some being Nick Bare/ the BPN community. As a runner I also prioritize lifting three days a week as maintaince- following a more “hybrid approach”. I am also inspired by Sally McRae and Courtney Dauwalter, and Andy Glaze- all more in the Ultra world which I hope to one day explore.
Race History
At this moment I have run two marathons- the Philadelphia and Austin so far. I am currently registered for the third this fall (MCM 2026). I have officially done two half marathons and a handful of 5k/10k. As mentioned, I excited to explore the triathlon space for this first time this fall. I have put in for NYC marathon lottery 4 years now and hopefully will be elected one day. I love travel and exploring new cities so I am looking to combine the two in 2027 (Paris or Rome marathon).
