Philosophy

I am a firm believer that every athlete is an individual and should have a plan to reflect this, that also takes into account and compliments their lifestyle.

I am passionate about seeing people achieve their goals, and even go beyond what they thought was possible, regardless of whether its running their first ever 5km or standing on that start line for a 100 miler!

My training method is more time on feet based rather than mileage, and I fully believe that an athlete should listen to their body throughout a training block, and I will be there every step of the way to help my athletes whenever they need me.

Coaching Experience

I started coaching as a personal trainer in the gym, and found that my passion was helping people feel comfortable in their own skin, I had many come to me as I didn’t look like a typical trainer and they liked that I could relate to them as they began their journeys.

As a run coach, I have had many of the same comments, and really enjoy watching my clients do things that they have never thought was possible because of negative and limiting mindsets around being a runner.

About Me

I got into running after having my first daughter back in 2019 as a way to combat post natal depression. I realised quickly that the Couch to 5 km app isn’t really designed for those of us who had trails and hills though!

From pretty much learning how run from scratch, I decided to push myself and see what I capable of and since then I have participated in many Spartan OCR races and trail races ranging from 5km to 39km.

Throughout my journey, I came to terms with that I’m not going to be a fast runner so have turned to the bigger distances instead and have goals of standing on the start line at Destination Trail’s Bigfoot 200 and also Javelina Jundred – I am a proud back of the pack runner and don’t believe that an athlete’s size should determine their goals.

Alongside being a running coach, I am also a personal trainer and the main thing I saw were people who were put off of asking for help due to feeling insecure within themselves (I was like this myself for a long time!).

Big Influences

There are so many athletes that I find influential (and would love to meet in person), but the ones who have had a big influence on my journey are Catra Corbett, Latoya Shauntey Snell, Jeffery Binney and Andy Glaze.

Race History

My first 5km race (2021) was an interesting experience and definitely lit then fire to see what else I was capable of.

Since then, I have taken part in many races, and over distances ranging from 5km up to half marathon with the longest distance being 39km on a looped course.

I have done many OCRs as well, with these mainly being in the shorter distances but I have goals to go further in those.
