Specialties
I am an RRCA certified running coach and enjoy coaching all distances and levels of athletes, but have a passion for marathon and ultra marathons. In addition to coaching certificates, I have my BA in Exercises Physiology and Doctorate in Physical Therapy with a board-speciality in sports physical therapy. In addition, I am a certified gait analyst allowing me to help athletes improve their running form, incorporate strength and mobility routines to help them run stronger and reduce injury.
Philosophy
While a large part of my coaching stems from an exercise performance foundation, I think it is still ultimately important to make sure training is fun. Most people are not professional runners and while setting a race distance or goal time is what most people are here to do, it should not prevent training from being fun and having some laughs along the way.
Coaching Experience
I’ve been a runner since high school (2006-2010) and have coached for the last 8 years. I have coached teams at the high school level, but primarily focus on individual adults.
About Me
Born and raised in Delaware I played a variety of sports growing up, but narrowed my sights on cross country and tennis in high school. After college I got back into running as a way to get back in shape and found I had a passion for longer distances. My dad had always been running and training for marathons since I could remember so I decided to literally follow in his his footsteps.
Aside from running, I work as a physical therapist in an out patient PT clinic with a focus on sports and orthopedics. I am a contracted physical therapist with the US National Soccer team and participate as a medical staff in USATF sanctioned events.
My wife and I enjoy spending time cooking, traveling and taking trips down to the Delaware beaches with our Golden Retriever, Murphy. We are also welcoming our first child in May of 2025 which will be a new exciting adventure for us!
Big Influences
Dean Karnazes: I read “Ultramarathon Man” when I was a sophomore in high school and swore to myself that one day I would run a 100 mile race (which I still plan on doing)
Jack Daniels
Race History
There are two races that come to mind. I had run many 5ks and 10ks throughout high school, but my running really became existent in college. My first half marathon which I did with very little training (and paid the consequences) just after college when I wanted to get back into running comes to mind as a very influential race. Though my time, race strategy and just about everything else in between went poorly, it brought me back into running.
A more recent race that meant the most to me was breaking 3 hrs in the marathon for the first time and qualifying for Boston. It was the culmination of 11 years of work to take myself from almost not finishing a half marathon to feeling confident in my overall training and race execution. I want to help other runners feel the same level of confidence and self satisfaction I did, especially those who have been on a long running journey themselves.

I couldn’t recommend Kyle enough! As a new long distance runner I was lost in navigating a training plan that felt effective. Kyle was supportive and attentive, and he got me through my first marathon in just four months. I’m looking forward to training with him for my next marathon!

Kyle is an incredible coach. I’ve worked with him for two years, and I truly can’t recommend him enough. Over the past year, I’ve added triathlon training on top of marathon racing, and Kyle has handled the transition effortlessly. This cycle, I’m aiming for an A-race marathon while still biking and swimming consistently, and Kyle has done an amazing job balancing volume, intensity, and recovery. He pushes me to get faster while keeping me healthy, and he’s endlessly knowledgeable and encouraging.

Kyle’s been my running coach for about 18 months and has help guide me to my marathon PR en route to BQing soon. He’s extremely knowledgable, explains things well and is very conscientious. All around great coach and fun to work with. I highly recommend him for those looking for someone who can cover everything that run training requires beyond just the running to the nutrition and all other components leading to success.
