SPECIALTIES

1 mile all the way through 100 mile ultra marathons! I love to work with beginners looking to achieve their very first PR or seasoned runners looking to tackle a new goal with the help of accountability from a coach. I can coach runners looking to run on the road, the track, or the trails.

As a CrossFit Level 2 trainer, I am also passionate about working with different types of athletes who are looking to add running into their current fitness routine, even if becoming a “runner” is not their main priority. I am a huge proponent of mixing strength training with running and am able to provide plans that incorporate/balance strength, endurance, and speed.

The Run + Strength package includes:
  • A thoughtful and personalized balance of running and strength and/or crossfit as appropriate for the individual
  • As many days as desired per week custom strength/crossfit programming tailored to include factors such as: run schedule/goals, strength goals, equipment available, training environment

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is that running is for everyone, and everyone who wants to become a runner – can become a runner with the proper training. Running looks different for everyone, and I want to ensure that all runners feel valid, whether they are running their first mile or their 20th marathon. There is space for every type of runner in the running community. My #1 goal is to be a coach who is accessible to everyone regardless of experience, goals, careers, and other competing priorities.

As a registered nurse, I spend everyday observing the consequences of not prioritizing your own health while you have the chance and the ability. I am passionate about helping individuals find a training schedule that fits their lifestyle and is as flexible as they need it to be. I have seen running heal both physical and mental health, and that is an opportunity I want everyone to be able to experience.

I have spent a lot of time learning how to balance my career, my family, my running, my crossfit/strength goals, and my other personal hobbies unrelated to fitness. I appreciate the power and happiness there is in finding balance, maintaining boundaries, and still being able to reach your fitness goals. As a coach, I aim to maintain flexibility with my athletes schedules, provide them longevity by negating injuries, and simultaneously help them reach whatever running and/or fitness goal they may have.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

I began my distance running journey in 2015 self-coaching and writing all of my own running plans. After my first marathon, I spent a good amount of time coaching many friends and families through their first races in distances ranging from 5k to full marathon. I spent a few years offering informal coaching services to my own personal connections, and in 2023 decided to take the leap to become a more official running coach. I currently hold two certifications in running through RRCA and UESCA, and am working on my UESCA Ultramarathon specific certification. I also have a current CrossFit Level 2 certification and am pursuing my Level 2 and beginning to coach CrossFit at a gym. I am passionate about coaching athletes who are looking to be more “hybrid” rather than solely just a runner or a weightlifter.

ABOUT ME

I currently reside in the Austin, Texas area where I have been for roughly 5 years now. I spent approximately 10 total years in the army and then transitioned out of the service to become a Registered Nurse. I currently work as a Registered Nurse with adults in the inpatient hospital setting.

I was a middle-distance track runner in high school and then transitioned to longer distances (marathons) while I was in the army. I ran my first marathon in 2015, and then found my love of marathon running again in 2020 when COVID began and the world was locked down. Somewhere in the middle of that, I decided to give ultra marathon running a try. I also developed a passion for CrossFit during this time, and have slowly been figuring out how to merge the two together in a productive manner for my fitness level.

BIG INFLUENCES

I am influenced by many athletes and coaches, particularly those who strive to combine different facets of fitness together and subscribe to a more hybrid blend of training. Ultra marathon runners Sally McRae and Courtney Dauwalter have served as big inspirations of mine as I have ventured further into the ultra marathon world. I have found great success utilizing the MAF method for training in heart rate zones as well as the 80/20 method for building aerobic capacity and promoting longevity.

RACING HISTORY

I have currently run 11 marathons and 6 ultra marathons! After a few years of casual marathon running, I set out to qualify for the Boston Marathon at age 28, and after 7 full marathons – finally grabbed a qualifying time in 2022! My first marathon ever was a 4:11, and my most recent was a 3:18 in Eugene. When I first started running marathons, I was very consistently a 4:10 runner – I never dreamt that Boston would be on the table as a realistic goal – but just keep running and you will surprise yourself!

Lauren is an amazing coach and I cannot recommend her enough! I have been working with her for over 7 months now and have progressed so much! I am a beginner runner, have only been running for coming up on 2 years. At the beginning of our training I was just getting back into running after taking a month off due to an injury. Lauren was helpful and attentive and always quick to communicate and change plans as needed. After we built a solid base we transitioned into race prep for a half which I was able to PR by over 11 mins! Not only did I PR, but I ended the race feeling so much better & stronger than my previous half. We are currently working on training for a full and I can’t wait to see the result of her planning & my training pay off in a couple months! Lauren is understanding of my demanding schedule, (I am also a bedside nurse working 14 hour days) and is always willing to modify as needed. Not only does she show her support and dedication to your running, but she sees you as an individual not just an athlete. If you are on the fence about hiring a coach, try her out I promise you will not be disappointed!!

Lauren is great a great coach and I’ve never been as confident in the gym as I am now. After completing my second marathon this fall I wanted to focus on strength training while healing from an injury that required I stop running for two months. Lauren’s strength plans are very detailed and take all the guess work out of lifting. As a beginning in the gym, her detailed feedback down to recommended weights is super helpful. I’m already feeling so much stronger! Lauren has been great helping me navigate my return to run plan and lifting. I am very happy to be working with Lauren and highly recommend working with her!

Lauren is an amazing coach! I’ve been training with her for some months now and my paces have improved in major ways. The plan is clear and concise. She is super caring and always takes time to reach out and check in on me. Before this year started, I ran nothing over a 10k and I just completed my first full marathon and did it within goal time! She is the best of the best. Lucky to be working with such a great coach and can’t wait to keep checking goals off the list. The best is yet to come. If you’re looking for a coach, she is perfect. She is super woman.

Lauren is an amazing coach! It’s been 2 months on her marathon training plan and my pace has vastly improved. I feel confident I will hit my PB this year. She touches base every week and lets me bombard her with all the running questions. Highly recommend her!

Lauren is an amazing coach and an incredible person. She understood my goal and worked with my lifestyle to strategize my runs. She simplified everything and made me feel confident in myself to achieve goals I felt were out of reach.
Her personable approach in creating a plan, explaining and guiding me throughout the entire process is something I’m truly thankful for. Her desire to help, educate, and provide the tools to understand how to effectively work and reach my fitness goals made me better understand the importance of hiring a knowledgeable coach.

I’m so grateful for Lauren! Thank you for helping me refocus my energies to achieve goals in my busy life.

Lauren is and has been the perfect run coach for me. Between my long hours, frequent work trips, and time in the field, she is still able to give me quality training while allowing me the flexibility to do my job. She is the most responsive coach I’ve ever had and I cannot imagine running with anyone else. She understands the balance of training and life better than any coach I’ve ever experienced and I cannot recommend her enough.

Lauren listens. She hears her athletes, and she works with them. That’s been the biggest part of coaching under her that has made me successful. Lauren brought me to a 3:20 marathon with many broken weeks and revisions to the plan due to injury stemming from my scoliosis. She understands what it’s like to work and train, and she is a responsible coach and programmer! My plan feels customized to me, always and she is always there when I have questions or bad days. She is the best!

Lauren is absolutely AMAZING! I came to her with a specific set of running and strength goals, and in just two short months, she has helped me make incredible progress towards them. Through Lauren’s thorough, caring, and flexible-yet-accountable approach to coaching, I have gained strength, speed, and most importantly, confidence in myself. I am so excited to continue working with her into the foreseeable future- the sky is the limit!

Lauren has been an amazing coach! She is super knowledgeable about training. She takes the time to understand what you are looking for and programming based on your life and race goals. Lauren also takes the time to answer any questions and cheer you on as you hit all your runs. If you are looking for a coach, definitely select Lauren as your next one!

Having Lauren as a coach has been a game changer for me. I had been struggling to get over 4-5 miles in a single run in October/November of 2023 and now I’m running 10+ with Lauren’s guidance/plans. I love that she offers strength + running coaching as well. Look no further if you are in search of a coach!

With her guidance we have navigated some injuries, time constraints and any other obstacle that could have gotten in the way. I am truly grateful for her knowledge and guidance!

I have been in the army for nearly seven years now and I have worked with coach after coach to really make me a good runner. I have been trying to enjoy running for years, really feel comfortable and not hate it- the key was Lauren. There is no one like her. She makes me feel heard, makes me feel important and understands everyones individual journey so well.

Lauren is so passionate about the sport and it shows. She caters to your experience whether it is your first time running a marathon like me or an experienced runner looking to hit a PR. I never thought I would be running the way I am today and I credit that to Lauren’s program and direction.

    Cesserie Moyer

Lauren helped me run my first marathon, and I can honestly say she is the perfect running coach. She is dedicated, responsive, and incredibly educated on the process. Her passion for this sport is incredibly evident in her coaching and it spreads to her athletes. I also really appreciate her being a true hybrid athlete, it was incredibly helpful during training. I love working with her and would encourage anyone wanting to start distance running to use her!

I signed up with Lauren after I had signed up for a marathon (as totally not a runner mind you) and felt overwhelmed with preparing for it. I’ve only been working with her for a few months but I don’t even have the words to describe how incredible she is. I just ran my first half marathon this past weekend and I couldn’t have done it without her help and training. She is so responsive to any questions I have and always responds right away. Her training plan has got me running faster and further than I ever have before. She’s easy to approach and always cheers me on and is excited to hear how my race went whether it be that half marathon or just a 5k. I couldn’t be more thankful to have her as a coach.

After a decade off of running, I signed up for a half marathon this year. I haphazardly started running 1-3x/week. I started working with Lauren about 3 mos before my race when I set out a time goal. She built a great plan for me that required me to fully commit to my goal. She was flexible with my time constraints and I learned how to incorporate speed workouts with her plan. She was very encouraging throughout our time working together and helped me learn a good racing strategy. I ended up hitting my goal time and PR’d my race—I can confidently say I wouldn’t have been able to do that without working with Lauren! I learned so much from her programming and have really enjoyed the challenges she’d built out for me. I will definitely work with her again on my next big race. Thanks Lauren!!

I love working with Lauren. She communicates well and is always checking in/giving feedback on my runs in a timely manner. I do CrossFit pretty equally to my running training so She’s been great about helping me schedule my runs so I can do both! It’s been a very long time since I worked with a running coach and I’m so glad I made the investment- Lauren is awesome!

    Brittany Tillman

I’ve never officially work with a running coach before, and I’m so glad I chose Lauren. She has been a great source of encouragement and knowledge during my time training with her. Despite working, training for her own competitions and races – she takes time to communicate and check in with each of her athletes. This speaks volumes to me about her desire for all her athletes compete to the best of their abilities and to be proud of the work put in throughout a training block. So glad I made this decision!!

She creates plans that have a beautiful blend of running and strength. I would recommend Lauren to anyone because she is truly passionate about this sport and helping those exceed within it.
