SPECIALTIES
My specialties are in trail running and ultra running! I love local events, adventures, big races as well as self supported ultras. Whether you want to set a new PR during your next race or you run for fun I will create a personalized training plan for you to reach your goals!
I also have experience in crewing and pacing ultras which helped me to understand the importance of personalized plans for each runner even better!
PHILOSOPHY
Every runner is different and responds differently to every workout. I believe in personalized training plans which fit your life/work schedule and works best for you to achieve your goals!
I myself travel a lot for work so I know how difficult it can be to balance the life/training schedule.
COACHING EXPERIENCE
I coached some of my friends to reach their goals at local races. I always love to share my experience and give advice to other runners at run club and just completed the UESCA running coach and ultra running coach certification earlier this year to strengthen my knowledge about running and coaching!
Since I got certified I started working with a few different runners in all kind of distances (5k up to 200 miler) to get them ready for the upcoming race season!
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Germany and was always outside and played in the woods as a child! I‘m a very active person and always chasing my next adventure. In 2021 I moved to Atlanta and discovered running as a new hobby of mine.
I like to challenge my body and mind all the time to see how far I can go. As gnarlier and steeper the trail gets the better. I’m always on the road, I love to travel and I’m down for a new adventure and discover new trails at any time.
BIG INFLUENCES
My biggest influences are my running coach, Keith Nadeau, and all the different people at run club. Throughout my training I learned a lot and saw a lot of different training styles
RACING HISTORY
Through the run club I joined back in Atlanta I discovered trail running and caught the bug. My friends got me pretty quick into ultra running and I signed up for my first official 50k in January 2023. After I finished the race I decided to go farther and signed up for a 50miler, 74ish miler, and 100 miler, all within 8 months! To top off and finish the year I did a half Ironman in December 2023. In between I raced some other races, pretty much every distance from 5k’s up to 50 milers!
I still enjoy every race, no matter the distance but mainly concentrate on ultras for now! I finished my second 100 miler and currently concentrate on UTMB qualifier races since I want to run the race next year! Currently signed up for 4 different 100 milers in 2025!

Jimmy Wilson –
I’ve been working with Coach Lukas Burrer for the past two months, and I’ve already seen noticeable improvements in my running. His structured, well-thought-out workouts are tailored to my goals, and his consistent encouragement keeps me motivated and focused. Lukas is always quick to respond to any questions I have, offering insight and support when I need it. I’m genuinely excited to see how far I can take my fitness under his guidance, especially with my big race just a few months away. I’m confident that with Lukas in my corner, I’ll be well-prepared to perform at my best. I’m truly glad I chose him as my running coach.
Jake Eddy –
Lukas was instrumental in helping me achieve my running goals. I dropped 10 minutes in my half marathon time with Lukas’ curated training plans and guidance. He was extremely accommodating to my schedule and tailored each week to build toward my running goals. If you’re looking for a qualified and supportive coach, look no further. Lukas is a fantastic coach and will help you achieve your goals!!
Lisa Wawrzynowski –
I have been working with Lukas since February (so about 3 months now) and I am super happy with having chosen him as a run coach. He was recommended to me by a friend who I noticed was seeing a lot of success in her running and has similar running goals to me. I am so glad I followed through with her recommendation.
Lukas profile as a coach and athlete is very impressive. He does a lot of endurance events which is what my focus is right now, so I know he understands me and how I can grow as a runner. He is really great with communication. Whenever I need to talk to him, he will answer quickly . My life can be crazy so he is very flexible and works with me to build me weekly schedules that fit my work schedule but get me lots of mileage in. With Lukas, I have finally been able to build a consistent routine back, rekindle my passion for running (was a little burnt out from lots of big races last year), and already starting to see improvements in my VO2 and speed.
Lukas is always checking in before and after races to see how I am feeling and adjusting my workouts to help me strengthen my weaknesses and work to hit my goals.
The workouts he gives me are easy to follow and my weeks have lots of mileage but are never overwhelming.
I highly recommend Lukas if you are looking for a coach who is communicative, supportive, and knows his stuff! Especially if you are getting into the ultra/endurance side of running!!

I was hesitant if I really needed a coach or not so after researching I decided to give it a shot. It has been a game changer having Lukas as my coach and drastically improved my training both physically and mentally. He is extremely knowledgeable, always provides a clear and concise training plan, willing to answer all of my questions, and very responsive. Over the past few months my pace and distance has improved tremendously. If you are looking for a coach to help you grow as a runner and achieve your goals in a safe manner then Coach Lukas is the person for you!

Lukas, has been fantastic to work with. He has been knowledgeable and responsive to all me needs and concerns. His running expertise is expansive. He is one of the most supportive and uplifting people I have met. He adjust the training based on my needs, ability and time restraints. We are currently working on ultra training, I’m excited when we complete that and move down to the mile-5k training to see what that entails. I would recommend Lukas to anyone looking for a coach.
CODY OGDEN –
I started with Lukas a few months back, and he has been an amazing coach – knowledgeable, responsive, and truly invested in my success. I was looking for a coach who had achieved what i aspire to, and he delivers. His experience has been invaluable to my progress. From day one, he made my training smooth and structured, setting me up with FinalSurge and designing a plan that challenges me while ensuring steady progress.
If you’re looking for a coach who genuinely cares about your goals and growth, I highly recommend Lukas! I’m stoked to continue my journey with him, and I’m confident anyone else would feel the same.

When searching for a coach to help me get back on track, I reviewed more than a dozen potential candidates. I was looking for someone who could truly understand my goals and push me to work hard to achieve them. Coach Lukas stood out because of his expertise, skills, and attitude, but once I started working with him, I was even more impressed by his ability to build a strong coach-runner partnership, working together toward success.
Achieving this dynamic is challenging even with regular in-person meetings, but doing so from opposite sides of the world is an even greater feat. Yet, since starting my training with him a couple of months ago, I’ve experienced firsthand how effective and motivating his approach is. Always responsive, always attentive to details, and always looking for creative ways to make sure we’re on track. I’m confident that 2025 will bring new achievements and unforgettable running moments for me and am proud to say that I train with Coach Lukas.

Before picking a running coach I read up on about 7-8 running coaches. Ultimately I picked Lukas because it seemed like he had more than just a certification. He had experience in endurance racing, which told me that he would understand me. Lukas has far exceeded my expectations and I probably talk about him to my runner friends far too much (not sorry). He always sets my runs on time, he checks in often, he adjusts things on whim, is super supportive and gives me more Strava kudos than my best friend. It’s been two months and I’ve already seen improvement in my pacing. Finding a good Coach when there are thousands to choose from is hard. But I couldn’t have picked a better one.
