SPECIALTIES

I work with runners of all levels, from beginner to elite, and distances ranging from 5K to marathons. Additionally, I am a licensed Physical Therapist as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach. I will work with you to develop an individualized training plan that fits your lifestyle. Also, if you’re recovering from an injury, I can work with you to create an appropriate return to run program so that you can get back on your feet. An additional service that I offer is a video running analysis, which allows me to assess your running mechanics so that you can avoid future injuries and run pain-free.

PHILOSOPHY

As a Physical Therapist and USA Track and Field certified coach I believe in evidence based practice along with listening to your body. You and I are a team so I want to have open communication and encourage asking questions. This will allow me to develop a unique training plan that will meet your needs and fit your busy schedule, while most importantly – helping you achieve your goals.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked with many runners of all ages and skill level during their rehabilitation following an injury. I spend a great deal of time working on running mechanics and strengthening in order to prevent any future injuries.

ABOUT ME

Matt is simply amazing. I’ve been working with him for a few months and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! Being a middle school teacher and the mom of a toddler, my schedule changes frequently, including my workouts. Whenever life happens, Matt is quick to reply to my messages, change my schedule around, or provide advice on how to make sure everything fits in. The fact he’s a PT is an added bonus – I strained my calf about a month ago and the strength guidance he’s provided has helped me to quickly heal and still make it to the start line of my first marathon coming up in a few weeks! If you’ve been thinking of working with a run coach, you can’t go wrong with Matt!

After taking 3 months off of running for a femoral neck fracture, I was nervous about training again and possible future injuries. Matt has put together a plan incorporating strength training, cross training, and running. Whenever I have had concerns or questions, he is very quick to respond and make adjustments to the training plan. In the short amount of time that I have been working with him, my running has significantly improved.

I would highly recommend Matt to help you reach your running goals!

Matt’s coaching has been excellent! Up to this point, I’ve been pulling 12/16/24 weeks training schedules from the web and simply trying to follow them as closely as possible. Matt and I chatted at length at the outset of our partnership so he could understand my preferences and needs, and gives me a customized schedule that is way more personal and effective than a one size fits all plan.

He is also very communicative and easy to work with. Either proactively checking in with me or quickly responding to my messages when I have a question about something. Could not recommend more highly!
