Specialties

I can coach athletes of all levels in distances from 800 meter to the marathon. As a competitive masters runner, I can provide valuable insights into what the adult runner needs to achieve their goals. I have 20+ years of race experience with over 500 races completed at distances from 800 meters to marathon.

I want to share what I have learned that works to help you perform at your best!

Philosophy

As a Masters athlete, I now realize that to be your best it takes more than just running, though that is important! Nutrition, mobility, prehab, and recovery are equally as important, even more so for the older athlete. I know to be at your best you need to do the things that you are motivated to do. I will work with you to find that balance and incorporate training into your program that you will want to do. Through an intake questionnaire and phone call, I will get to know you, your likes and dislikes, what you excel at, and what you find challenging. We will build a plan together to get you to the starting line healthy and ready to go!

Coaching Experience

I am a McMillan Certified Run Coach and have coached runners of all levels, from runners doing couch to 5K to National Class Masters Champions

About Me

I’m a competitive runner always looking to learn more to help me reach my fullest potential. I’m married (to a runner!) and have two dogs! In my spare time, I love traveling to new destinations, particularly like mountain towns since they offer the best trail running.

Big Influences

I have utilized various training plans from coaches throughout the years and have found that it is good to mix it up in terms of training and types of workouts.

Matt Fitzgerald has different types of workouts than Greg McMillan, each with their own advantages. I had a personal coach for years from the Hanson’s program, so I learned about their training philosophy as well. If you do one thing, get ‘Elite Minds’ by Stan Beechum. It’s my go to book for mental training, which I believe is critical to being a successful runner.
