Philosophy

To quote Walt Disney, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”

I’m looking to help athletes achieve their goals by incorporating fundamental workouts combined with a traditional, yet flexible, coaching style. In short, I want my athletes to reach new heights while making sure their overall health and well-being remains the top priority. I work best with athletes who are intrinsically motivated to put in the work required to reach their own goals.

Coaching Experience

I am a lifelong runner, and this is me taking the leap into the world of online coaching. I’m looking forward to partnering with Team RunRun as a first time coach.

About Me

I am extremely passionate about running. I have dedicated the better part of three years now to running and trying to qualify for the World Marathon Majors. I have amassed a wealth of knowledge on these particular races and all the different ways to enter them either via lottery, charity bibs, or time qualification.

These races are amongst the biggest in the world and also a great way to travel the globe. I am looking forward to helping others start their six or seven star journey!

Big Influences

My biggest influence is my own current coach, who has helped me incorporate different workouts into my training routine. Each athlete responds differently to increases in weekly mileage, intensity, speed work and cross training. Finding the right balance for each individual athlete is the key to success.

Race History

I have raced in 5k and 10k events from grade school through high school. I competed in Junior Olympic races, my family and I traveling all across the country for my competitions.

Within the past few years I have returned to the world of racing, now at the marathon and half marathon distances. I self-coached myself to my first full marathon back in 2023. Since then I have self-coached myself to my first Sub-3 hour marathon (2:59:23) in London 2024—an achievement I am most proud of. I also recently set a new PR at the 2025 Chicago Marathon. Now I’m looking forward to earning my fifth World Marathon Major finish this upcoming year in either Boston or New York City.

Personal Records

  • Marathon – 2:53:33 – 2025 Chicago Marathon
  • Half Marathon – 1:25:08 – 2025 Mercer County Half Marathon

I ran my first marathon in November 2026 at the New York City Marathon and had the pleasure of working with Matt throughout the process. In just five months, he helped me go from a recreational runner to a serious marathoner. We set an ambitious goal of running a sub-3:30 marathon, and with Matt’s coaching, I surpassed it and ran a 3:15.

Marathon training is both time consuming and often lonely, requiring months of dedication to a structured program. There are lots of runs when you do not feel like running and many social invitations you need to turn down to stay committed to training. Matt was a consistent source of support the entire way. He believed in me, even when my own confidence wavered. In a world overflowing with information and advice about training, Matt helped cut through the noise and created a personalized program that actually worked for me. On race day, he was waiting for me at mile 23, right when I needed it most. His encouragement helped me stay on pace and finish strong. I can’t recommend working with Matt enough. As long as I’m running, Matt will be my coach.

I just completed my first EVER half marathon with Matt’s help! He was incredibly supportive and always available answering my questions and concerns through text at any time. I really appreciated our phone calls during training, where we discussed everything from what to expect throughout the process to the best shoes, rehab routines, and how to handle setbacks like shin splints. Overall, I had a great experience and truly felt like I was part of a team working with him 🙂 — exactly what I was looking for. TY MATT

Matt has been an amazing coach! Coach doesn’t even seem like enough to describe the support and guidance Matt has provided me in such a short time. From daily specific work out plans, to nutrition, to race day prep, to reaching PRs, to setting new goals! My original goal with hiring Matt was to help me complete 50 races this year and run the London marathon. But the goal has morphed into being a stronger, smarter, faster runner too. He will meet you where you are, help you reach your goals, be there with you every step of the way.
