Specialties

My primary focus is road racing from 5K – Half Marathon and I have a tremendous amount of experience on the track and Cross Country as well. From personal experience I have developed extensive knowledge on prevention/recovery tools for a wide variety of injury which will shape a lot of the training. I dedicate a lot of my time towards nutrition IQ for proper fueling and I am committed to strength training as well in my program. A lot of my training is motivated by what is best for physiological benefit such as threshold training.

Philosophy

My focus as a coach is to do everything in my power to see you achieve the goals that we establish together! This is a path of personal progression so I heavily emphasize the importance of your own achievements and the deserving celebrations that follow at any level!

I see health as the foundational key for all success in life, both the mind & body. So naturally, I care about the whole story in order to create the greatest results athletically.

There are lots more pieces to the puzzle in my perspective for how training looks and I am excited to share them with you when we work together!

Coaching Experience

Throughout my entire running career and beyond that – life, I have and will always apply my best efforts into seeing those around me become the best versions of themselves. Below is my coaching experience to date

  • Merivale High School Assistant Coach 2017 – 2018
  • Ottawa Lions Team Leader 2018 – 2023
  • Self Coaching 2023 – 2025
  • Coach of Canadian elite + national competitor Sophy Wood
  • Team Run Run Coach 2024 – Present

Coaching is what I plan to do for the rest of my life and I am extremely excited to continue to expand my portfolio.

About Me

I was born n raised in Ottawa, Ontario and have always been quite active + competitive growing up playing all sorts of sports. I love making music which is primarily a blend of electronic & rap – all of which I produce, engineer, write, and record from scratch! Check me out on any streaming platform under my my artist name “Neeque”. My lovely girlfriend and I have a cockapoo who’s name is Ooolong and we constantly spend time in nature, including where I train, as it is where I feel most at peace:)

Big Influences

My greatest influence is not one person or training style in particular but rather a melting pot of many experiences and people who I have met along the way. Some examples of this include my own success and mistakes, former coaches, studies on sport science/physiology, conversations with fellow elite runners, plenty of online research, and much MUCH more! I am grateful for what has led me here.

Another major influence that will determine how I create your training schedule is YOU! By having honest discussions with one another, this will allow me to have a better understanding of your specific needs in training.

Race History

Since I began running competitively 8 years ago, I have raced on national and provincial stages across all 3 discipline types (road, track, and XC) too many times to count! I was an OFSAA competitor all throughout high school and as my focus is currently on road racing, I am constantly amongst the best in Canada in there elite fields. With this being said, I am very familiar with the ins and outs of championship races and can conduct efficiently in these environments!
