Specialties

I coach the mile through the marathon for runners at every level. My sweet spot is the busy but motivated runner who wants to PR without letting training swallow the rest of their life. Here’s what sets my coaching apart: I’m data-driven and highly engaged. I prioritize heart rate-based training and deliberate workout design to push you toward your potential without piling on mileage or setting too aggressive of a plan for your schedule. I ran cross country and track through high school and college, so I love building workouts – I know how to develop both endurance and speed. I treat whole-body strength as non-negotiable; we’re here to chase PRs, and we’re here to keep you healthy and running for as long as possible.

Philosophy

You don’t need more miles – you need the right ones, at the right time, with someone in your corner. I build training around your actual schedule, not an idealized version of your week, and I adjust in real time as work, travel, and life come up. The goal is consistency that actually sticks, so you reach the start line fit and confident rather than worn down. And because training is more than just running, every plan folds in strength, cross-training, recovery, fueling, and race strategy.

Coaching Experience

I’ve been coaching for five years and I’ve worked one-on-one with 20+ adult runners across every level, from people chasing a first finish line to seasoned marathoners hunting a new PR. It’s always individual coaching: I build each plan for the specific person and their goals.

About Me

I’m based in Brooklyn, with a Biology degree from MIT and an MBA from Stanford, and I work in health-tech startups as a product and commercial leader. I’m analytical by nature, so your training data is in good hands! I ran in high school & college, but for a long stretch my own training was inconsistent. My work schedule was demanding and I didn’t invest in a regular training plan, so my performance was highly variable. What changed things was hiring a coach, and that’s exactly the experience I want to give my runners! Outside of running, I love exploring new restaurants and NYC neighborhoods and I’m a little obsessed with cinnamon rolls (I built cinnamap, a map of cinnamon rolls around the world). In 2025, I ran the Hood to Coast relay as a member of the “Twelve Olivias” – yes, we are all named Olivia.

Big Influences

Two lessons shape everything I do as a coach. The first I learned early from my high school coach, Gary Cohen: hard work on hard days, easy miles on easy days. You need that balance, and it’s exactly what the 80/20 approach and heart-rate training are built to protect. I believe most of your running should be easy so you can really push the hard days. It’s a lesson I had to relearn as an adult, after falling into the rut of running every run at the same pace and wondering why I wasn’t getting any faster (…it happens to the best of us). The second came from hiring my own coach ahead of CIM in 2023: consistency matters more than almost anything. Structure, accountability, and showing up week after week did more for my running than any single workout.

Race History

I’ve run five of the World Marathon Majors (Boston, New York, Chicago, London, and Berlin) plus CIM and more half marathons than I can count. I’m a four-time Boston qualifier (CIM, Berlin, New York, and London). My marathon PR was at CIM (3:14 and soon after I set PRs in both the 5K and half-marathon. I’ve raced everything from the 800m to the marathon, and feel comfortable coaching all distances.
