COACHING EXPERIENCE

Since retiring from the Air Force in 2023, I have been coaching ever since. For my full time job, I coach Air Force Special Warfare applicants (anywhere from 17-41 years old) through calisthenics, running, and swimming so that they have the best opportunity to complete a rigorous training pipeline after they finish basic military training. I am also a fitness trainer at RoKC in Kansas City, MO and I currently have athletes training up for 50K races throughout 2025.

ABOUT ME

Retired United States Air Force Special Operations Tactical Air Control Party Officer with a love for endurance sports. I got my start in Ironman racing in 2020 and I have since completed 3 full IMs, 3 half-IMs, and countless cycling races and med/long distance running races. I’ve had to keep a high degree of fitness throughout my military career. I signed up for my first IRONMAN race before I even knew how to swim so I know what it takes to tackle what may seem impossible.

I originally started my fitness journey as a competitive Crossfit athlete from about 20-26 years old. I won multiple competitions and also traveled to compete on behalf of Air Force Special Operations recruiting where I won a fairly big competition at Venice Beach in California. Then one morning when I was 26 years old, I was getting tired of waking up with horrible knee and back pain and told myself “I should not be dealing with this at 26 years old”. That day I made the decision to make the transition to endurance sports, primarily IRONMAN triathlons, and I have not looked back since.

At 30 years old, I suffered from a stroke after completing IRONMAN 70.3 Florida in 2023 where I had near-complete blockage to the left side of my brain for nearly 30 minutes. Five minutes after the clot was removed, I was back to 100%. I give all credit to my rapid recovery to my physical fitness, so my goal is to help people understand that being fit is much more than just looking good for someone else or the mirror. It can quite literally save your life, and I am a walking example of this. Three days after the stroke, I was back on the bike training for Spring 2024 races.

I currently train this country’s future United States Air Force Special Warfare airmen by coaching them through strength and calisthenics, swimming, running, and overall military endurance to help them enter one of the most rigorous training pipelines in the entire military. I sincerely enjoy helping people meet and exceed their goals. So if you wake up with the motivation to get better each day, let’s work together to get you there!

BIG INFLUENCES

I like to spend a majority of time on a base phase, if we have the time, because I think this is the most important time during a training program. It is where we can really focus on building your aerobic engine and mental toughness through those longer and longer running sessions. Then as we get closer to your race, we then shift focus to speed training where I provide you tough but fun quality sessions designed to allow you to push yourself, but also leave those sessions feeling more confident and stronger.

Strength and conditioning is also a huge part of any training program I provide. Gym sessions is where we can really build the muscular strength needed so that you can have a better running economy and also not fatigue as much during those longer races as you approach the finish line. It is also a great place to pre-cab injury so that we can make absolutely sure that you are ready for your event!
