SPECIALTIES
I specialize in training for races between the 5k and half marathon. I particularly enjoy working with busy runners fitting training into a full-time work schedule. I am also experienced at incorporating strength and mobility training into race training. I especially enjoy working with runners new to racing!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that athletes perform best when they trust themselves, listen to their gut, and enjoy the process. I rely heavily on communication and understanding; ensuring I get to know your goals, fears, or concerns, and what gets you to lace up every day. My aim is to continue to develop your love for running, not make it a chore. My focus is on consistency and running for longevity and health. As I get to know you, I will learn where to push you, where to remind you to rest, and where we can maximize your strengths to reach the finish line.
COACHING EXPERIENCE
- Men’s Division III Track and Field, 2 seasons
- Women’s Division III Cross Country, 1 season
ABOUT ME
I am a higher education professional passionate about educational access, and wellness and wellbeing. In my free time I enjoy reading, exploring new (and know!) cities by way of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and museums. I am a native New Yorker calling Boston home for now.
BIG INFLUENCES
My high school track coach had a major influence on me as a runner. He challenged me by giving me workouts I thought I couldn’t do, but quietly led me to understand that I was capable, that I’d put in the work to ‘earn’ those harder training sessions. His reframing of challenges as opportunities allowed me to push myself to new levels. As a coach myself, I take seriously the opportunity to guide athletes to see themselves as more capable, stronger, and faster than they ever did before.
My college cross country and track coach has over 25 years of coaching experience and yet she treated each team, each year, like a unique and special thing. From this I learned the importance of being in the moment you’re in, focusing on training one day at a time, and that treating each individual as a contributor in their own way is the best way to build a team. I bring this individualized approach to my coaching now, knowing that everyone brings something unique to the athlete-coach relationship.
In the professional ranks, I love cheering for Nikki Hiltz and Cory Mcgee on the track and Emma Bates and Molly Seidel in the marathon.
RACING HISTORY
I ran cross country (5k/6k) and track and field (800/1500) throughout high school and college. After college, I took a break from racing and did a lot of running for fun. I ran a Ragnar relay race and my first half marathon, but then took nearly 3 years off of running entirely. After spectating the 2023 Boston Marathon, I got the racing bug back and registered for my 2nd half marathon. After committing myself to the training, I was hooked on running again and am eyeing my next race!
