Specialties

I work with athletes of all levels who want to improve their fitness, elevate their running performance, and cultivate a true love for the sport. My approach centers on valuing the whole runner and building custom, comprehensive training plans designed to meet you where you are, whether your goal is running a continuous mile or qualifying for Boston.

I also emphasize holistic training, which goes beyond mileage. This includes targeted strength work, nutrition and hydration strategies, mindset work, and honoring women’s hormonal health. My goal is to help you improve not only your running and fitness, but also your wellbeing.

Philosophy

My approach to coaching is personal, practical, and grounded in both exercise physiology and lived experience. I discovered my passion for running and racing as a busy adult, and I believe training should support your life, not take it over. Whether you’re curious to try running, training for your first race, aiming for a BQ, or simply wanting more consistency and confidence, I’ll help you train smarter, recover better, and feel stronger.

Running can be an acquired taste, I totally get it. Wherever you are on your journey, I’ll meet you there. My goal is not only to help you reach your goals, but also to (hopefully!) instill a lasting joy for the sport.

My Core Beliefs

  1. Training should adapt to your life, not the other way around. Consistency matters, but so does sustainability.
  2. Performance isn’t just physical. Your mindset, emotions, and hormones all influence how you train and race.
  3. Women deserve training that honors their physiology. Cycle-aware coaching helps you train smarter and recover better.
  4. Progress looks different for everyone. There’s no one-size-fits-all definition of success.

Coaching Experience

I have coached part-time with the New York Road Runners for 4 years and have worked with private clients for 5 years.

About Me

As a lifelong athlete (a former competitive skier and tennis player) I discovered running at age 21 during my first year of teaching English at a New York City public high school. The job was demanding and the days were long, but running gave me a window of clarity. It became a daily ritual … a way to take a breath and move through the intensity of those early career days.

What started as a few solo miles along the East River grew into something bigger. At 26, I ran my first half marathon, joined a Brooklyn track club, and soon after caught the marathon bug. Since then, I’ve completed 12 marathons, including 7 NYC, 2 Boston, LA, Big Sur, and Miami. Each training cycle has taught me something new, and I try to take on a challenge every year. This year, it might be Every Woman’s Marathon in Arizona.

Today I work in New York City as journalist and producer, and running remains one of the most meaningful threads in my life. Coaching runners of all levels is both a passion and a joy, and I love sharing the gifts that running has given me and supporting others in discovering what the sport can unlock for them.

Big Influences

I draw inspiration from **Shalene** Flanagan, Haruki Murakami and Stacey Sims.

Shalene, an iconic marathon champion herself, is unwavering in her support of other women runners and athletes. Haruki Murakami, a writer, shares a deep reverence for running as a quiet, enduring act of self-understanding. Dr. Stacy Sims, a leader researcher in exercise physiology for women, reminds us that women are not small men and that honoring our cycles, hormones, and recovery needs isn’t optional, it’s essential.

Together, their philosophies shape my approach: a blend of science, discipline and care centered on the whole person.
