Philosophy

Focus on quality over quantity, increasing runner longevity, and keeping the sport fun! I believe the best road to successful long-term results is enjoying your training, I do my best not to over-train my athletes because consistency and longevity in this sport is what yields the most success!

Coaching Experience

Have been coaching since 2018, began with track coaching at Newton North high school. Coached multiple runners to sub 1:54 in the 800. Have moved onto marathoners/ultra marathoners for personal and individualized run coaching. No two plans are the same, will tailor to your needs and schedule.

About Me

Guinness World Record Marathon Holder for Fastest Leprechaun (2:47). Father to 1 + 2 year old, can help you navigate training and racing (and parenting) with young children! Passion for volunteering with children, have raised $30,000 running marathons/ultra-marathons for Horizons for Homeless Children + Understanding our Differences. Happy to give fundraising advice as well!

Big Influences

Currently coached by Olympic Coach Kurt Benninger, I’ve learned well from coaches who believe speed is the most important skill to improve. Even with marathons/ultras, an improvement in your base power pays off nicely in the longer distances.

I’ve been working with Sean for the last few months and he’s been an exceptional coach. 10/10. No notes. We started working together when I was in the middle of injury recovery and physical therapy. He’s been patient and attentive, and has adapted my training every step of the way — from injury management to recovery and now into a full race build for the NYC Marathon. Sean is communicative and collaborative, and does a great job being both encouraging and constructive at the same time. He is also extremely understanding of real life circumstances and I appreciate how he builds flexibility into my plan without losing momentum. He’s a great coach. Hire him!

Sean is absolutely amazing! He consistently checks in and adapts my plan to make sure I’m getting the most out of my training. As someone who’s never been much of a runner, I really appreciate how he sets realistic goals while still pushing me to improve. I’m currently training for my first marathon, and I’m getting better every single week. I truly couldn’t recommend Sean enough

Sean has been incredibly in tune with myself and a friend who are training for a marathon. He works with our schedule and adapts our runs to our needs each week. This has been an amazing 1st training experience for me and has taken a lot of the fear out of the marathon training process!

Sean is the best coach I could ask for! He’s so thorough and detail oriented, and really takes the time to adapt your training plan to your personal needs. Sean is super consistent and accessible with his communication and seriously knows his stuff, his workouts have really changed my training for the better. Can’t recommend him enough – Sean makes lofty PR goals become realistic and achievable.

Sean has been a perfect example of what separates a ‘coach’ from just a training program. Great engagement and flexibility to adjust plans when ‘life happens’. Highly knowledgeable and individualized approach was exactly what I’ve been looking for in a coach.
