Running Coach Description
I coach adult runners (18+) from beginners to experienced competitors, with a focus on the 5K through half marathon, road and trail racing, and athletes returning to running or competition after time away. My philosophy is simple: I don’t just train runners—I train athletes.
My coaching combines individualized run training with strength development, nutrition, recovery, and the realities of everyday life. Your plan should fit your schedule, athletic background, injury history, and goals—not the other way around. I especially enjoy working with runners who want to get faster, become more durable, and take on challenging goals and adventures.
I bring more than a decade of coaching experience along with USATF Level 2 Endurance certification, CSCS certification, sports nutrition credentials, and graduate study in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. My goal is to combine current sport science with practical coaching to help you train with purpose, stay strong, and discover what you’re capable of.

That sets the course for my programming: multifaceted, science-based, and built around the whole person. About Me
I am an accidental hybrid athlete – I love both lifting and running. Having started my endurance career on a mountain bike in high school, I’ve been a cyclist for over 20 years. I am an age-group competitive runner who runs up to 50k events, a strength athlete, and a nutritionist. My perfect day starts with a long run as the sun rises, a big breakfast with my wife and kids, the morning at the park, a light lunch before heading out for a bike ride, and then making homemade pizza and chicken on the grill as we watch a 90’s sitcom. I also love the mountains, cooking, coffee, candy, and donuts.
Big Influences
Scott Christensen, Jack Daniels, Arthur Lydiard, Mihaly Igloi, Westside Barbell
Race History
My biggest breakthrough came when I ran the Oklahoma half marathon championship, and I won my age group and placed in the top 5 overall but more importantly proved to myself that the years of training were all worth it. As I toed the line, I was both at peace with the work I had put in and the race plan I had put together. I surpassed my goal and left the race smiling ear to ear.
