My goal as a coach is to inspire a lifelong love for running and to help athletes embrace both the joy and the challenges that come with the sport. COACHING EXPERIENCE
Since June 2024, I’ve been coaching athletes of all levels, from beginners to elite runners. Whether you’re chasing personal records, tackling your first marathon, or simply striving to become a stronger, more confident athlete, my goal is to inspire a love for running and help you embrace both the challenges and rewards the sport has to offer.
ABOUT ME
I’m Tanner, and I live in North Carolina—what I like to call the “Midwest of the South.” I’ve been here since 2021 and have loved soaking in the state’s natural beauty. My running journey started in the spring of 2023, when I picked it up for health reasons, but quickly became hooked. I started on the roads, then moved to trail running in Charlotte. Now, I enjoy the unique challenges that both road and trail running bring and love coaching the two different types of running.
My first race was a trail race on St. Patrick’s Day, where I got covered in green dye. That moment hooked me on the excitement of racing. Since then, I’ve completed several half-marathons, full marathons, and two 50-mile ultra marathons. My goal is to show others the physical and mental benefits of running and prove that with the right mindset and determination, any challenge can be overcome both in the sport of running and life.
BIG INFLUENCES
My biggest running inspiration is Sally McRae. She’s a professional ultra-runner who motivates me in countless ways. I’ve signed up for races just because I felt her belief in me through her book, podcasts, and social media. She’s pushed me to break through my own limits and embrace the tough moments where we truly learn what we’re capable of.
