Specialties
I specialize in coaching beginner to intermediate runners, particularly those looking to build consistency, return to running after time off, or develop a healthier relationship with training. My approach emphasizes sustainable habits, injury-awareness progression, and mindset support for runners balancing training with busy or high-stress lives. I work well with athletes who want structure without pressure, accountability without burnout, and confidence alongside physical progress, whether they’re preparing for their first 5K or working toward longer-distance goals.
Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that consistency and confidence matter more than perfection. I take an individualized, athlete-centered approach that considers not only training history and goals, but also life stress, mental load, and long-term sustainability. Drawing from my background in mental health, I emphasize mindset, self-compassion, and adaptability alongside physical training. My goal is to help runners build trust in themselves, stay engaged through setbacks, and develop a sustainable relationship with running that supports both performance and overall well-being.
Coaching Experience
I am a UESCA certified running coach with experience creating individualized training plans and supporting athletes through consistency, motivation, and gradual progression. I have worked with runners in early stages of their journey, including developing walking to running programs and providing accountability, structure, and encouragement. My background as a mental health therapist strengthens my coaching by allowing me to effectively support behavior change, goal setting, and mindset challenges that often impact training. I am committed to ongoing learning, clear communication, and helping athletes build sustainable habits that support long-term success in running.
About Me
Running has been a grounding and empowering part of my life, and I love helping others discover what the sport can offer beyond just miles and race results. I’m a licensed mental health therapist and UESCA certified running coach who enjoys blending structure with flexibility and mindset with movement. When I’m not coaching or running, you’ll usually find me hiking with my dog, snowboarding when the weather allows, or reading a good book. I value balance, consistency, and enjoying the process, and I bring that same energy into by coaching so runners feel supported, capable, and confident both on and off the run.
Big Influences
I’m deeply influenced by runners like Courtney Dauwalter and Rachel Entrekin, who exemplify resilience, curiosity, positivity, and a balanced approach to training and life. I admire their ability to pursue ambitious goals while staying grounded, humble, adaptable, and connected to the joy of running. Their emphasis on listening to the body, embracing the mental side of endurance, and honoring the process over perfection strongly shapes how I approach both my own running and my coaching philosophy.
Race History
My racing background includes 5Ks, 10Ks, two marathons, and a 50K with a few random distances sprinkled in. While I don’t consider myself a particularly fast runner, I’ve learned that my strength shows up most clearly in longer races, where patience, resilience, and mindset matter just as much as physical fitness. One marathon, which I later realized I ran with tendinitis in my foot, taught me an important lesson about listening to my body and respecting early signs of injury. Completing the 50K was the hardest athletic challenge I’ve taken on at this point and it deeply strengthened my connection to the mental side of running – an experience that continues to shape how I approach training and coaching today.
