Philosophy

Ultra running is more than physical endurance — it’s a mental and spiritual path. My coaching approach blends:

  • UESCA-certified ultra training principles
  • Mindfulness-based mindset work
  • Breathwork techniques to regulate stress and sharpen focus

Together, we’ll work on both the internal and external elements that move you forward: building the body, tuning the mind, and unlocking the belief that you are capable of more than you ever imagined. I believe that mindset and perspective are as critical as miles and splits. My work centers on helping runners transform internal obstacles into stepping stones through mindfulness, reframing, and consistent self-compassion.

Drawing on my background as an ultra runner, Air Force veteran, and outdoor guide, I understand the grit and grace required to push through limits — and I guide others to do the same. I combine practical training plans with emotional support, strength programming (through partners), and deep mindset work to support sustainable growth.

Coaching Experience

I come to coaching from a non-traditional path — one forged through military service, recovery, and a deep love for the outdoors. My coaching combines over 15 years of experience in ultra running, race volunteering, outdoor guiding, and mindset training. I’m UESCA certified and collaborate with strength and community-based coaches to offer a comprehensive program. Whether you’re chasing a PR or seeking inner growth through endurance, I meet athletes where they are — with tools rooted in discipline, self-awareness, and real-world experience for athletes on and off the trail.

About Me

I found trail running after a life transformation in 2009 when I gave up alcohol and looked for a healthier, more purposeful path. What started as a new hobby turned into a lifelong passion, leading me into the world of ultra marathons. I’ve completed races including the Kettle Moraine 100K, Never Summer 100K (twice), Telluride Mountain Run, and Bighorn 52. I’ve also volunteered and supported runners at events like Hardrock, Moab 240, and Dirty 30. I know what it means to dig deep—mentally and physically.

I combine structured ultra-distance training with mindset and mindfulness coaching. As a UESCA-certified coach, I use evidence-based programming—but I also work with athletes on the mental game: reframing limiting beliefs, building resilience, and embracing the full journey. I integrate breathwork, community support, and strength training partnerships to help my runners thrive on and off the trail.

Coaching allows me to give back what this sport has given me: growth, healing, and purpose. I especially love working with runners navigating life transitions, recovery journeys, or looking to go beyond what they thought was possible. Running in the mountains saved my life—and I want to help others find that kind of transformation too.

Big Influences

I have been influenced by several people and coaches in the space. I listen to Jason Koop’s podcast and and have read his books. I was a (virtual) CTS athlete and have attended a few of his running camps. I have learned a lot from Jason and his coaches.

Race History

I started racing with the normal 5K to Half marathon distances where I did well. My fastest 5K time is 17:33 and my fastest Half marathon time is 1:22. Then moved to ultra distances where I have completed several races and supported for many more.
