Specialties
I’m here to help runners achieve their goals through inspired and accessible training plans that are rooted in science. I coach beginners through advanced runners, in road distances from the 5K to the marathon. I am especially passionate about working with:
- First-time Marathoners
- Marathoners wanting to break 4 hours
- Masters Runners (40+)
- Experienced Runners looking to PR and/or BQ
Philosophy
Are you tired of stressing out about how or when you’re going to fit in your long run? Are you spending a lot of time researching what type of workout will be most beneficial to reaching your goal, or how to properly taper?
When you sign up to train with me, I will help alleviate some of these common stressors so that you can just focus on the running!
As your coach, I will be a partner in your running journey, and craft an individualized, adaptive, weekly training plan that is sustainable, and fits in as part of your lifestyle. Whether you are just getting started, have a few marathons under your belt, or are chasing a BQ, I will meet you where you are, and together we will build upon that, to get you where you want to be. In addition to any race-specific “outcome” goals, we will also set process goals.
Below are a few key components of my coaching philosophy:
- Every run has a purpose, and each race can teach you a lesson.
- The 80/20 principle, meaning that 80% of the running is done at a low intensity. Keeping the easy days easy builds aerobic capacity, and ultimately allows our bodies to push harder and make adaptations on the high intensity days.
- Workouts don’t need to be complicated and overwhelming to be effective. (They can also be fun!)
- Sleep and thoughtful recovery are as equally valuable as the miles you put in.
- Balance is important, even when you’re chasing big dreams!
Coaching Experience
I have worked with athletes of all abilities, ranging in age from 25-70. Some started with run/walk programs just to get moving more, while others had goals of completing their first marathons. Several of my runners have finished marathons in under 4 hours, and I have coached runners to PRs across multiple distances.
About Me
Dog Mom, coffee lover, craft beer connoisseur.
My running journey started in 2015, and I have now officially caught the coaching bug, so I am excited to embark on turning my passion for running into a coaching career.
Before becoming a runner, I danced professionally for 12 years. That experience helped shape who I am as an artist, athlete, competitor, and mentor. During that time, I also recovered from multiple knee surgeries, so I understand coming back from injury very well!
Nowadays, I am a Running Podcast junkie, a Super Fan of the Elites, and love to learn anything and everything I can about the sport. I also love a good pair of running shorts (with lots of pockets!) black coffee, giant soft pretzels, hoppy IPAs, Superhero muffins, and comfy recovery slides.
If I’m not running, reading about running, or listening to something about running, you can find me scoping out new local products at my favorite grocery store, hiking, or spending time at home with my family.
Big Influences
Run Like a Pro (Even If You’re Slow) by Matt Fitzgerald and Ben Rosario
“Keep Showing Up” – Des Linden
Hugely inspired by US Elite Women’s Distance Runners both past and present (Deena Kastor, Shalane Flanagan, Des Linden, Sara Hall, Steph Bruce, Keira D’Amato) The list goes on!
Race History
I ran my first marathon in 2016 at the Chicago Marathon to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. After Chicago, I set a goal to finish all Six of the World Marathon Majors. Since then, I have completed 9 additional marathons, including 3 more of the Majors (New York 2017, Berlin 2021, and London 2022). I also race several half marathons and shorter distances each year.

Steve Vetter –
My coach Brittany,
Simply put, she has put fresh air in my lungs and strength in my run – that I only dreamt about with previous coaches. Her intuition & experience has lifted my running to a much higher level in just two months! I am a stronger runner with Brittany.
She has imparted best in class coaching to me in the following areas: I struggled with some knee and muscle pain, high heart rate, and fatigue before, during and after runs and workouts. Her guidance and resources got me through the knee and muscle pain quickly. My fatigue was eliminated in 1 week using the resources and guidance from Brittany. I feel strong for the first time in 3 years of running. I feel I got this. Thank you Brittany for pouring all the good resources and coaching into me.
Angelica Carey –
Brittany is an incredible coach. I’ve run 16 half-marathons by following a pre-set training plan, but I kept getting injured or overtraining or undertraining, so I thought I would give coaching a try. There is no doubt that my fitness has improved significantly in a way that has never happened by following a pre-set, one-size-fits-all plan. Brittany is both proactive and reactive: she looks ahead to how to successfully and safely build my fitness, and she adjusts each workout in my plan based on my performance. She keeps me motivated and on task even when I am struggling — I can always count on her for encouragement, and she’s there for me every day when I complete my workout to offer advice and support. She is incredibly knowledgeable about running form, muscle groups, gear, nutrition – the works. And when work or life or travel gets in the way of a workout, she helps me re-adjust so that I don’t lose ground.
I highly recommend her to any runner — whether you are just getting off the couch or you’re looking to BQ, Brittany has your back!

Brittany had an immediate impact on my running. The improvement in my results has been so much better than I imagined. I have definitely benefited from her guidance and advice as I gear up towards my goal half marathon in December.
Jonathan Nagle –
Brittany is the best coach I could ask for. Very highly recommended to any runner.
I made my first marathon attempt in October and injured myself on my 20 miler. I attempted the marathon, but I came up short and it was heartbreaking. I decided I wasn’t going to give up and talked to Brittany the very next day. Following a successful rehabilitation, Brittany built a plan that took my injury into account and achieved my goals. I travel a lot for work, and she was always flexible, adjusting my plan to my travel schedule or to how I was feeling. After every workout Brittany provided encouragement and feedback, studying my splits, and was available for a call if I had questions. In March I successfully completed my first marathon thanks to Brittany! Brittany is the perfect coach for any skill level, if she can get me to the finish line she can get anyone to the finish line!
