PHILOSOPHY

I have a background in mental health work. I believe mindset plays a huge role in goal setting and performance as an athlete. I will look at more than your physical training metrics and take all aspects of your life into account when developing your training program. Support, rest, and stress management are all topics I go over when I start working with an athlete.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a personal trainer since 2014 and have worked with a number of gyms while living in Tennessee. I also coached the Tennessee running club in 2016 at the University of TN in Knoxville. I have been coaching runners since 2018 with a focus on the military community while I was an active duty Marine. I currently work with pregnant and postpartum athletes in returning to running safely.

ABOUT ME

I am a new twin mom to Liam and Asher! I am currently returning to ultra marathons and I’m also training for my first 70.3 triathlon. I started running in 2012 as a way to maintain fitness while I was in college. Due to my competitive spirit, I fell in love with the challenge of distance running and seeing how far my mind and body could go. One distance led to another and I found myself doing my first 100 miler in 2017. The 50 mile is my favorite distance and I love crewing and volunteering at ultras as much as I love running them. I am a masters level social worker when I’m not coaching and I am Marine Corps Veteran.

I’m originally from Knoxville and it’s where I got my running start, so I know the trails and running scene well in my hometown city. I am currently in New Bern for military orders, but I travel home to Knoxville often and participate in the awesome running community there as much as I can.

BIG INFLUENCES

I train based on Rate of Perceived Exertion and heart rate. I also incorporate total body fitness and injury prevention into my programming.

RACING HISTORY

I have completed multiple ultra marathons as well as self supported efforts. My favorite accomplishment was a self supported run through the Grand Canyon.

I have been working with Cassie for a few months now. She is helping me reach my goal of running my first 100miler. I am a full-time worker, Mom of two and married. I started my training with just a printout from a Google search but became nervous that would not be enough to get me across the finish line in September. Cassie is always checking in with me via text or calling me especially right before a race. Cassie sets up a schedule for me that has been great to not have to think about what I need to get done for the week. I was feeling overwhelmed but she has taken some burden off of me which is inspirational since she’s a Mom of twins. If you are thinking of getting a coach to help you reach goals with any distance of racing do not hesitate to reach out to Cassie and I am sure she will help you.

I love Coach Cassie’s ability to meet her athletes where they are on their running journey!

I’ve only worked with Coach C for a short time and I already feel beyond supported and heard. I’m a personal trainer and (somewhat) experienced ultra-marathoner, so I don’t work with just anyone. Allowing someone else to make my training plan isn’t something I take lightly; I have high standards! I don’t just want to be put into a box – Cassie does anything but that. She has provided the individual approach I really need from the coaching experience.

On a practical level, Cassie responds to texts very timely and will plan a phone call as soon as she can.

Working with Cassie is just what I needed to get on track to meet goals that are beyond my ability to plan by myself!

I’m a full time working mom with a kiddo who has special needs. I love to hike big hikes and run endurance trail runs. Cassie takes the mental load off of me and plans out the training, so all I have to do is show up! She also helped talk me through nutrition options and adjusting training for my busy schedule and upcoming hikes.

Best of all, following Cassie’s training plan has kept me injury free! I’m an over-doer by nature, so her sense for building up endurance has been super helpful to keep from adding too much too fast.

    Thanks Cassie!

I am SO happy that I found Cassie through Team RunRun. I am older, a busy mom of 3, and I’m not going out to win any races…but I have big goals and Cassie is helping me accomplish these goals efficiently and safely! She has been super flexible when my schedule changes and adjusting my plan according to how I am feeling.

    Highly recommend!

I’ve been working with Cassie for a few months now and highly recommend her. I’m a postpartum mama healing from 2 back to back complicated pregnancies and she not only has helped me mentally through ppd as I try to bounce back but is also helping me ease back into running. I met her through the ultra running community before having babies, she knows how much I miss/love running. She is patient and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to bouncing back postpartum. Her plans are clear and consistent, she doesn’t push you to increase if you are not ready. She is flexible and so supportive. I’m excited to rebuild with Cassie in my corner and you’ll want to do the same! She will set you up for success with your goals!

I highly recommend Cassie as a running coach, especially for postpartum runners!

Cassie’s been coaching me for about 2.5 months now. Before finding Cassie I was desperate to run again after having a baby, but didn’t know what to do and experienced pain when I tried to run. Thanks to Cassie, I’m finally back to consistent and pain-free running! Cassie understands postpartum athletes, not just because she’s been through it herself, but also because she’s specifically studied how to support and coach women who want to be active postpartum. I’m so grateful that I found Cassie, and even though I initially got a coach to help with returning to my run routine postpartum, with a goal of just being able to run 30 minutes, I will continue to work with her toward my other running goals. Her coaching plans are always clear and consistent, and she’s flexible and supportive when I need to adjust something. When she was in town, we even met up for a run that matched my plan! Sign up with Cassie, your running will improve!

I’ve been working with Cassie for a little over a month and could not recommend her coaching services more! I came as a beginner-intermediate runner with a marathon and a few shorter distance races under my belt. Up until this point, all of my training has been self-guided but I began to notice a plateau in my performance as I was not able to push to the pace I wanted achieve, especially at longer distances. As soon as I joined Cassie’s team, she immediately diagnosed areas where I needed to focus to build up my running fundamentals and helped me stay accountable to a plan to help me get there. Additionally, her strength plans have really helped me feel like a stronger runner and I’ve noticed less soreness/aches after my runs as a result of doing the strength training in tandem with my runs. She knows how to tailor plans to busy schedules and his super responsive for whenever I have a question/something comes up. I can’t wait to continue working with her and seeing how I perform on race day!
