SPECIALTIES

I can work with beginner runners looking to break into the ultra scene. Having ran distances from 50ks to 100 miles; I understand how to prepare physically and mentally. I want to instill that same preparedness in the runners/athletes that I coach; meaning nailing the pre-race strategy, nutrition set-up, gear requirements, and problem solving during the race.
I addtion to the pre-race prepartion; I also understand that strength training is important as well and I won’t shy away from it if a runner wants to add it to their training plan.

Lastly, to tie everything together; the mental preparation/goal setting. I want to try and instill the proper mental preparation for my runners so that they are able attain or get as close as possible to their goals.

PHILOSOPHY

Running ultras are never easy and training for them can seem even more difficult due to the time and effort needed. For this reason I want to create a training plan that best fits my atheletes lifestyle. I also want them to realize that even with other life obligations such as family and work; that running a 50k or tackling their first 100 miler is obtainable.

Lastly, I want running and training for ultras to be fun. Even though running ultras have its highs and lows remembering “why” you are doing this will make this fun. Also, the trail and ultra community are a fun bunch of people. Who wouldn’t have fun running for hours in the woods with like-minded people.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

As a new coach I am looking to help beginner ultra-runners realize these potential.

ABOUT ME

It all started with a video on Youtube about a runner running 100 miles and the “why” behind it. I thought I could run 100 miles but how and how long will it take me to achieve that goal. That thought was in 2018, fast forward to 2022 and I am toeing the line of the Rocky Raccoon 100; with the goal and hopes of just finishing. 30 hours later I am crossing the finish line of my first 100-mile race. After years of training; running smaller ultra distances; DNFing my first 100 mile attempt my goal finally came to fruition. If you are looking to achieve a goal at maybe running your first 50k; jumping up a distance to a 50 miler or 100k; or finishing your first 100 miler then you can reach out to me as I too have been in your shoes a newbie.

In addition; I am a husband and a father so I know and understand that life can be unpredictable just like ultras; so I will do the best I can to accommodate for those sudden changes in life.

If you are ready to take the next step or chase after a goal you have been wanting to achieve; reach out to me and we can talk about said goal and maybe get you started on the path to it.

BIG INFLUENCES

Some of my biggest influences have been Jason Koop for the scientific/training side of running. Another big influence is Courtney Dauwalter for the mental side of running.
