Running Coach Description
I am a single mom of two girls. I work full time as an Occupational Therapist with children with special needs and some older adults in homecare setting. I have been an avid runner for over 25 years running countless races from the 5k to the half marathon, 50k (2x) and 9 marathons including 3 WMM and have qualified for Boston 3x over the age of 40. I believe strongly in the power of running/training for both mental and physical benefits and have used it to run through grief and divorce. Women and mothers deserve to have goals that light them up, and the ability to go after them despite a busy/hectic life. We set goals for anything from the 5k to the marathon and go after big goals because she matters too 🙂

About Me
I am a late 40s single mom of two girls, who are my favorite people in the world. I am Occupational Therapist full time and work with children with disabilities and elderly who have been discharged home. I have a 25 year+ history of running, starting in college with my workouts often coming from the latest SELF magazine. I, like many other women my age, started running to lose weight, using calories in and calories out as the metric but running started feeling good. I ran my first race in 2004or 2005 (?) with the Long Beach Island 10 mile race. I did most of my training on the treadmill, hard, fast, without a lot of understanding how to actually train. This resulted in IT band syndrome that made it nearly impossible to finish the race, but I did.
Slowly, I started learning how to train, I increased mileage slowly and fell in love with the process. In 2008, my first daughter was born. And I always came back to running…through post partum, coming back to it after undiagnosed PPD. In 2010, I was pregnant with my second daughter. She passed away in utero later in pregnancy resulting in a stillbirth and depression, anxiety, and a world turned upside down. I became pregnant with my third daughter in 2011. As a high risk pregnancy I did not run through it. But I came back from it shortly after her birth. I trained for my first half marathon, with minimal knowledge of actual training but kept running, enjoyed the running boom in the 2010s and running with friends.
In 2017 I got divorced, another traumatic life event and I depended on running more than ever. In the loneliness of a quiet house, the road became a sanctuary and the reason I could get out of bed. Fast forward to 2022, the desire to run the NYC marathon was greater than ever. Now my 3rd marathon, but the one where I learned *HOW* to train. And I fell In LOVE with the process….the early mornings, the consistency, the dedication, the hard runs, the easy runs. Since then I have qualified for the Boston Marathon 3x and run and finished it 2x. I have run Chicago and finally PR’d in the Marathon at the Kiawah Marathon in SC with a sub 3:30 at age 46. I set qualifying times for Chicago and NY as well. In that mix are a couple 50ks with friends and a Ragnar because the running community is like no other 🙂 I became so fascinated with the process that I became a certified Run Coach with RRCA. And then as I entered midlife I began to see the process of running and my recovery were not lining up like they used to. As a lover of all things science, performance, and recovery, I dove in deep on how aging as a female impacts my running and into the type of programming that women in midlife need to move into the backHALF of their life stronger than our mother’s generation.
I choose to rewrite the script on women runners. Whether you are a new mom, a working mom, a single mom, a woman in midlife, I believe strongly in the power of running as not only setting examples for our children, but for creating something for you that truly matters. I am passionate about showing our kids generation that we are more than capable. That we belong and are not succumbing to society’s narrative that we must slow down. Instead I am here to prove the opposite.

The athletes I coach, the women I see run, the moms getting it done before or around their kids schedules, the ones heading out in the dark by a headlamp or putting in a full days work and then getting it done.
